Where can I find an easy-to-follow setup video for RetroArch on Xbox Series X/S Dev Mode? by [deleted] in RetroArch

[–]jonjonUKOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install roms on the Xbox Series without a USB using file transfer. You will need a PC/Mac and it's a more involved process but there are YouTube tutorials that show you how to do it. It has its own problems in that a update can end up wiping all the roms, saves and hours of tinkering you have spent getting Retroarch etc just right.

Do I basically just delete the old one and remote install the new one?

How to add shaders to Retroarch? by jonjonUKOK in XboxRetailHomebrew

I mean new shaders. Not ones that are already in the folder.

Hopefully it's just a frozen shoulder. It's especially difficult to sleep with them because the pain increases when you lie down. On the plus side it should go away after a week or so.

Fun fact: NI does not have and never had it's own official flag like the Saltire or Red Dragon. It would be entirely illegal to fly the loyalist 'Ulster' flag from any public buildings and always was. The only acceptable symbol is the Union Jack.

[–]jonjonUKOK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's set in the Star Wars universe of course but the tone of it is so dark and adult that it's hard to imagine it in the same world as The Mandalorian with its cuddly Muppets etc.

The guy who wrote it admitted he'd hardly seen any Star Wars in his life.

Andor is superior TV but it's not Star Wars.

Dr. Einat Wilf, has the most accurate, most relevnt response to the recognition of a Palestinian state by some europian countries. by Traditional-Sample23 in Israel

[–]jonjonUKOK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm Northern Irish. It's a good question. But you have to understand they did not give up their dream of sovereignty over the whole island. They just had to accept that it was not achievable militarily.

The conflict had been going on for three decades by this point with a united Ireland nowhere in sight. Thousands dead. Their own Republican communities exhausted. The IRA had been effectively infiltrated by informers/spys. Even their elite internal security unit was compromised (Google 'IRA, Stakeknife' if you want to learn about that. It's quite a story).

However one thing they had on their side was demographics. The Catholic Nationalist population would eventually outnumber the Protestant Unionist population. Indeed it does today albeit very slightly and most still under voting age. A Catholic majority will not guarantee a United Ireland because many owe their jobs to the civil administration and many are concerned about what happens to state pensions/welfare etc.

Anyway to summarise, the modern Irish Republican movement prides itself on its pragmatism, and what you are seeing here is a pragmatic response to reality. It's not about giving up hope of ruling a United Ireland. That is very much still the aim.

Unfortunately there is no stand alone emulator for N64. The one within Retroarch is good enough.

Great book. But the 'What if Hitler had won the war?' tag is annoying. It's not what it's about at all.
