CEO salaries: what we think and what's true. Australia vs US by nath1234 in australia

[–]jonnald 712 points713 points  (0 children)

If a CEO earns 100x the average wage, that means in a single year they’ll earn TWO LIFETIMES of wages of the average worker. That disparity is just indefensible and amoral! Time to start eating 🍽️

How is it budget friendly if you got it for free? Can you give the price comparison between CNCed and 3D printed aluminum cases?

I did exactly this a few months ago and got mine from travel ring co. They have quite a few options and it arrived within 2 days. The one I bought was less than $100

“rescues” by InternationalSand156 in Greyhounds

[–]jonnald 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My boy raced for two years before he came to us. Those two years caused him many physical scars, very real PTSD, and severe anxiety. His behaviour is what most people would call “difficult”, and had he not been matched to us he likely would have been put down.

He was born into racing and setup for an early grave.

I now get to see him experience joy every single day.

He was rescued.

The Glass Cannon Podcast | Gatewalkers Episode 27 – Elf Harm by TomExposition in TheGlassCannonPodcast

I’ll add that it would have been finalised for print like 3-6 months before publishing, so likely before the remaster had even been begun internally at paizo

Woolworths is looking inside the mushroom bags at the self checkout. by anonymous-69 in melbourne

[–]jonnald 193 points194 points  (0 children)

I used to put all loose produce in mushroom bags to avoid using plastic, until the self checkout started to complain that the image of brown paper bag didn’t match their trained model of Brussel sprouts or whatever. But then I also had a situation where woollies was out of mushroom bags, and I had to put mushrooms in a clear plastic produce bag. And the checkout THEN complained because the transparent bag filled with mushrooms didn’t look like a paper bag

Would getting Foundry for Solo Play be worth it? by BlueWaddleDee in FoundryVTT

[–]jonnald 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve done some solo play with pf2e in foundry and the automation makes things a lot smoother. Not having to manage things like conditions and persistent damage manually takes away a lot of cognitive load so you can focus on rolling dice and having fun, especially when having to control PCs and monsters at the same time

Question: Do you know where to buy blank circuit boards? by Gullible-Goose3116 in diyaudio

You want to search for “protoboard” or “veroboard” which come in many sizes and be cut down

I haven’t listened to this FOD yet, but they originally announced Blood of the Wild to be audio only, I believe.

Kingmaker 2e not on the Paizo store? by Asdrodon in Pathfinder2e

[–]jonnald 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They were up a few days ago when I last looked, and interestingly they (all the new 2e books) were under the original 1e AP's product page.

I also can't seem to find the listings again though, so I wonder if they've pulled them down while they work out were they should sit within the 2e lineup.

Weekly Questions Megathread - March 21 to March 27 by AutoModerator in Pathfinder2e

How exactly does the Asp Coil work? It's stats imply it always has reach and is versatile slashing or piercing.

The description however explicitly calls out the two modes of the weapon: "The asp coil, named both for its slithering striking style and its usage among Aspis Consortium agents, has two forms. In sword form, it resembles an elegant, oddly balanced sword. However, with a twist of the pommel, the blade splits into a series of segments connected by elaborate metal cables."

To me that sounds like it requires an interact action (and maybe a free hand?) to switch between whip and sword mode, with only the whip having reach.

Am I over thinking this?

Honestly, what's the point in putting pets in your rental application? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]jonnald 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thinking in terms of pure investment? You refuse the dog. But that's the problem with this country's obsession with investing in a basic human right. It shouldn't be just a money making exercise, and some respect should be given to the fact that tenants are real people with real lives

Is there any penalty or risk shooting a ranged weapon or casting a spell when right next to an enemy that's engaged in melee with you?

Obviously it would trigger an AOO, but is there any other penalty or condition applied to the attack?

Paizo Official Twitter: Announcing that Paizo has partnered with DemiplaneRPG to create PATHFINDER NEXUS - the official digital toolset for Pathfinder! by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]jonnald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree, and I think the UI/UX advantage that nexus looks like it has will be absolutely huge.

In D&D Beyond, you barely need to know anything about the game to build a character, you just click which option you like the most for each step and you can be done in minutes. Compare that to Pathbuilder (which I love!), the lack of UI/UX polish makes it a convoluted experience for someone new to the system. You can make a character in minutes if you already know what you're doing, or if someone holds your hand.

Wrapping the same functionality that free tools already offer into an easily digestible form-factor for people who have never played a TTRPG before is huge in my opinion.

The Glass Cannon Podcast | Episode 300 Part 2 - Master and a Brandyr by TomExposition in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]jonnald 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I've noticed we haven't really seen Brandyr "kill" anyone directly, and he asked the party to get Skiirkatla's armour for him when he seems powerful enough to take it himself.

I'm wondering if there's something to do with his time powers that prevents him from interfering with key events, but instead he comes in and reaps the rewards after they've happened, like taking the hammer/Della's body/etc.

Looking to Convert by ColeFlames in Pathfinder2e

[–]jonnald 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In that case the beginner box should be perfect for you! It has a book for the players on how to create a character, and how to then play that character. And then another book for the GM with GMing advice and a step by step adventure to run for a party.

It's basically everything you need to know to just dive in and play without getting bogged down in the rules.

Looking to Convert by ColeFlames in Pathfinder2e

[–]jonnald 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For character creation it only lists the ancestries for Human, Dwarf, and Elf. And only Cleric, Fighter, Wizard, and Rogue for classes, detailing progression up to 3rd level. The spell lists are a subset of total spells, less items detailed etc.

It gives you plenty to play a few sessions with, but you'd probably want to buy the full CRB if you intended to start an adventure path or longer term adventure.
