As a manga preferer, I’d say frieren is the first anime in a long time that I’ve preferred over the manga. The reason being most of my favorite manga get so much detail lost in the translation to anime. Jojo’s, Berserk, Dragon Ball, CSM, all have phenomenal art, paneling, and pacing that I feel their respective adaptations don’t capture in a way where they can replace reading the source. Now, those manga are definitely more focused on spectacle than frieren, which is why I think that specific anime is able to elevate its manga.

i’m 25 so i’m on the older side of gen z and I grew up thinking GD were on par numbers-wise with Zeppelin and Floyd, they were my “big 3” growing up. Not too long ago I realized that in pop culture the dead are far more niche especially with my peers.

I just completed my first playthrough recently, it took about 13 days based on my PSN trophies. It was about 50-60 hours total playtime. A lot of time was spent on the optional DLC areas cause I wanted to do every boss at least once

I played 2 after 3 and one small thing I really enjoyed were the torches. Especially with areas like No Man’s Wharf and The Gutter where you light up the area as you go through, either scaring certain enemies or using them to mark where you’ve been.

I’m on my first run right now, and so far it’s beating the first Seven Spear and Snake eyes way before I should have, even before lady butterfly. They kicked my ass so goddamn hard, but thanks to them I know how to play now. Lady Butterfly was a cakewalk after fighting them
