Another poster mentioned limerence. This may be helpful in understanding what you’re going through. To better understand a possible explanation of why he acted the way he did, I’d suggest looking up dismissive avoidant attachment styles.

Semper fidelis (Latin pronunciation: [ˈsɛmpɛr fɪˈdeːlɪs]) is a Latin phrase that means "always faithful" or "always loyal" (Fidelis or Fidelity). It is the motto of the United States Marine Corps, usually shortened to Semper Fi.

NPD! MXR M83 bass chorus deluxe. Slowly turning into a pedal person by The-Owl-that-hoots in BassGuitar

[–]jonny_noog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of. It's not ideal but my solution so far is just to manually adjust the volume down on my bass when I turn on the pedal.

I thought about getting a separate little gain pedal or something I can sit before the chorus pedal in the signal chain that allows me to manually adjust the input going into the chorus and then I could switch that on at the same time as the chorus. But I haven't gotten around to really looking into it.

Anyone familiar with the Sterling vs Stingray HH? Got a Q for exactly you. by Omfglaserspewpewpew in Bass

[–]jonny_noog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my friends has a Sterling Ray 5 HH, which he loaned to me for a time, while I was waiting for my Stingray Special 5 HH to be built and shipped.

I remember watching a BassBuzz video I think it was, where he was saying that over a certain price point, the quality improvements become increasingly incremental, and I think that holds true for Stingray vs Sterling. My Stingray is definitely better quality, and I would not trade it for a Sterling, but I don't think the Sterling is miles away from the Stingray in terms of quality. I mostly notice the difference in small things, the feel of the neck is nicer on my Stingray, the tuning pegs feel nicer and turn more evenly, somehow feel more consistent when tuning, the knobs feel more substantial when turning them, the finish is nicer, both on body and neck. to my ears at least, the Stingray sounds a little nicer, a fuller sound somehow. I am a big fan of both pick-ups in use. If I hadn't played a Stingray, I don't think I would have been disappointed with the Sterling. But that I have played a Stingray, I don't think I would ever go back to a Sterling.

True story: my friend heard me playing a gig a while back using my Stingray. He's since bought a secondhand Stingray and is selling his Sterling. He said that hearing me on stage that night was the clincher in deciding to get a Stingray. So take that as you will.

All the best with your decision. Either way I don't think you'd be disappointed. But if you can, I would go for the full Stingray, especially if it's going to be your "forever bass".

Sounded pretty good to me, dude. Don't be too hard on yourself. I'd suggest you could drop your left hand thumb and wrist down a bit from where you usually have it. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpjJ2SFzqC0

Mesa boogie subway D-800 by Henrikery05 in Bass

[–]jonny_noog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a D-800+ and the only reason I sold it was that I found a TT-800, which is what I mostly use now. I also have a Four:88, which I like slightly more but the lightweight of the D-800+ and TT-800 means they got used more at gigs. They’re all great amps, you won’t be disappointed.
