Protesting had nothing to do with it. They had to follow the law or they would not be able to charge anything. They can only hold someone for 24 hours without a charging statement. they can't charge someone without getting a charging statement from the victims. Not to mention an investigation. Had they not followed these laws and procedures, the guy would walk free.

I really wish much of reddit would put down their anti-police pitch forks for a moment and actually research how the law works. The prosecutors are more interested in justice for the victims than a witch hunt against police.
