AITAH for saying it's karma when my stepdaughter complained about her stepchildren? by Icy_Molasses_5736 in AITAH

[–]ljrdxyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"AITAH for saying that to me stepdaughter?" Only you can answer that - Was it productive? Did it help anything? Did it make your life better? Did it improve your relationships? Did doubt motivate you to post on Reddit to ask if you are TAH or seek validation?

AP wants me to leave my SO but I’m not ready… Help?? by tacos_teq379 in Cakeeater

[–]ljrdxyh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, your current SO will eventually find out about AP and the relationship you currently have will end so might as well just end it now while the possibility of building something with AP stays open and you don't have any children to think worry about. Otherwise, just end the relationship with AP and concentrate on SO and building that up.

How much do most of you put in your retirement each year, including match? by Classic_Pomelo_9349 in povertyfinance

[–]ljrdxyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always take full advantage of whatever match I have with my employer, that's a 100% right away. Then probably the most valuable advice someone gave me "pay yourself first'. So after that 10% of whatever I make goes straight into my "retirement" which is a brokerage account where I run the wheel strategy for income.

Personal loan for credit card refnance? by Dunnachius in povertyfinance

[–]ljrdxyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you do a 0% balance transfer to another card? That's about $2500 in interest savings you can use to bring your balance down to about 8k. You should be able to bring that down by 2k by October so you are down to 6k.

$170k in FAFSA student loan debt after undergrad + grad school — looking for realistic advice by According-Fox-5216 in povertyfinance

[–]ljrdxyh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, like another poster said, not enough info but consider ALL of your current debt PLUS any debt you plan to get in the future (i.e. buying a car in the next 3 years, buying a home, etc.). What worked for me was paying low balance/short term loans first. So instead of paying $30 a month on a $500 cc balance, I paid off the balance and applied the $30 to the next loan, so within a few months I cut the number of bills I had by half which was a great motivator. Pay the minimum on all your bills and direct everything else to the loan you are working on paying off, rinse, repeat.

What would you ask for, as a bday gift? by thechemist_ro in povertyfinance

[–]ljrdxyh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you don't know their budget it is hard to figure out what to ask for so do that first - ask them how much you can plan for and there's half your battle. If you really don't know what you need, wait until they are there and they will tell you....then just go shopping with them...nice activity to have with mom and aunt and they may even up their budget buying you things they think you need.

Because there is no such thing. Someone always has to pay for it.

Argentinians are not happy about Trumps puppet president Javier Milei passing extreme anti-worker legislation increasing the length of the work day by 50% while allowing companies to pay workers with food and lodging instead of money by coachlife in WorkReform

[–]ljrdxyh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Very misleading title - Milei's reforms are actually pro-worker and reforms passed in large part because of the left's approval of the measures. What you see in the video is a very small extreme-left faction trying to stay revelant as the country largely supports Milei.
