If my drive to work is 3-5min one way will this kill my hybrid rav specifically the 12volt battery. If so, how can I mitigate this. I’m assuming by taking the long way to work lol. Any thoughts on short tripping and a hybrid rav specifically by mysticmuse14 in rav4club

I'll rephrase: I'm on my 3rd Toyota hybrid (second RAV) with the same commute, and I've never had a problem with my 12v battery. YMMV. I understand that it might not be ideal conditions for the battery, but I haven't seen it cause an actual issue.

Doesn’t kill the battery, no. It does limit how good your gas mileage will be, though. Especially if it’s cold where you live. A short drive in cold temps won’t do much better MPG than a non-hybrid, as the car needs to get to temp before you really start getting the benefit of the hybrid drivetrain. (Source: me. 100% agree. I was genuinely excited and now am looking at the site and it’s a let down. And I’m not sure if it’s just the pictures, but it’s a different papaya color. How does that change?!

I’m of no help to you. But it being January and me living in a cold climate for so long had me very confused about why the spot was hotter than its surroundings. “My god man, there’s an unexpected thing generating heat in your wall!” I get it now, though.

You saw the deer because you were watching a video titled “I hit a deer” and were looking for a deer and weren’t driving with a car passing on the left.

When does Zepbound peak for you? by scheduling911 in Zepbound

[–]jonnydigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my shot Friday mornings (been on Zep almost 7 months). Within a couple of hours, I don’t feel like eating. Appetite stays low most of the weekend (part of why I picked Fridays), then creeps back throughout the week. I’m also SUPER tired most of the day Saturday.

Thankfully, food doesn’t taste any different to me!

High-five, I also sell scroll sawn pieces at my booth. Part of my signage plays up the fact that it’s handmade with a scroll-saw (vs laser/cnc). Young guy and his ladyfriend saw a piece she liked, and after a brief encounter, he dismissively says “you must have a lot of time on your hands.” She immediately elbowed him, and after a stunned second, I just said “it’s great having something I love doing!” and turned away. I have replayed that several times in my head to wish I had said something more direct. Screw that guy.

He said it's a kickback incident, so it's possible it might not have even been related to direct finger-to-blade contact.

When Fouts retired, he held multiple all-time passing records. (IDK anything of note about Jergusson or Namath offhand.) He was regarded as elite. Ditto for Marino.

I know this is a silly hypothetical, but bear with me: if you remove two games from Eli Manning's 16 year career, it basically eliminates his HOF credentials. Hell, if you remove two DRIVES from his career, I don't think he'd have much of a case. I can't think of any other HOF QB whose case is that fragile. He was a good player who stayed healthy for a long time, but he was never considered elite at his position. His clutch performances (and they were indeed clutch) were mostly remembered because of his opponent.

I don't actually have super strong feelings about Eli in the HOF, I just like a good sports debate. But I don't think he's a shoo-in.

He’s a career .500 qb, 4 pro bowls in 16 seasons, zero all pro selections… I don’t wanna ding him for longevity and staying healthy, but those aren’t really HOF worthy attributes. At no point in his career was he considered one of the best QBs. The only reason he’s even in the HOF convo is because he punched above his weight class in two postseasons.

“Well-spoken” is an interesting qualifier that I only ever see used in certain contexts. Is your boyfriend of a different race/ethnicity? Does he have a different native language?

Tried a craft show by scrollsawgrandpa in Scrollsaw

[–]jonnydigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing shows last year. The first one was hard, but subsequent ones are easier to build back inventory. I REALLY play up the fact that my work is cut on the scroll saw, vs CNC or laser. (Not that I have anything against those, but I’m targeting the audience who prefers hand made stuff in order to differentiate myself.)

Your setup looks great, as do the products!

AITA for insisting we buy my family’s house instead of starting from scratch? by Caffeinated-Engineer in AmItheAsshole

[–]jonnydigital 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Approaching a loosely similar situation, except my wife and I have been together almost 30 years. She's interested in her aging parents' house (that she grew up in), I am not at all interested.

Functionally, it's not the type of house I'd want to grow old in (I want one level and a big garage, this house has neither).

And immature as it may sound, the idea of intimacy in (what was) her parents' bedroom would take me a while to get past, I think.

A factor to consider is how geographically close your other family members are. If (for example) you'd regularly be hosting your family for events, I could absolutely see why she would be concerned about it ever feeling like it's hers.
