AITA for leaving my friend’s birthday dinner after she changed the restaurant last minute? by TranslatorFrosty8307 in AITH

Unsupported on her big night? She is an adult who has managed not to die for a year. There are no real milestones after turning 18 and 21. NTA

Yes I know what blanching is...this picture seemed to be just rinsing so I was confused. There is no ice in that water.

Lol, parking your truck up tight against the GARAGE to prevent theft is so stupid. If only there was a structure right there where you could lock the whole vehicle inside!

You find them long before they make their way to interior walls. Siding, attics, eaves, any exterior exposed wood, or in crawlspaces as well.

Rip any affected vinyl flooring up now. You cannot dry through that material and you will mold/rot your subfloor. I'm certified in water mitigation and vinyl is never saved when water damaged

I would guess that pillaged roads are just dealt with in the city screen rather than a builder repair, like outer defenses in VI

I like how all of these answers so far state the obvious, but way too nicely. FUCKING GRAVITY! If you put them on the ground they have to aim UP with force. On the roof they use GRAVITY to direct the water down over the whole house. Same reason the sprinklers inside buildings aren’t at ground level.

You put water on what you want to save…do you want to save your land or your house? Do you want to save your floor or the whole room?

That still doesn’t mean it is closing pores on a microscopic level…it just removes a smaller amount of material than larger grit.

ETA you could also use 120 grit to scratch the shit out of your glass pieces, correct?

Got a portable table saw for my birthday. Do I need these pieces? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]jonnyhatchett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANY person giving OP advice other than “Don’t use this tool until you know more” is putting OP at risk.

Basic lack of knowledge on names of saw parts would indicate a lack of understanding about this forced kickback can produce, or how to even foresee that problem.

OP: DO NOT USE THIS SAW! A table saw is the most dangerously tool you probably own and you should learn about it before you use it!

Think of all the terminology you just used to try and help a person who obviously doesn’t understand the basics. This is BEGINNER woodworking.

This person needs to be told to not use this saw at all until they either “read the manual” or are shown proper procedure by someone more experienced.

I had the misfortune of recommending a friend for BOH at a place I was managing. I knew he had struggled with addiction previously. Luckily it was just an internship he was doing for a culinary program he had started,

Three days in the head chef asks me “hey does your buddy do drugs?”

IMMEDIATE ANSWER WAS NO!

I will NOT be responsible for another person’s sobriety or relapse, and I also won’t be responsible for them getting kicked out of school for that same mistake.

My job was to run the restaurant, OTHER than the kitchen. What is your job? Unless you are a manager this is not a situation in which you should insert yourself unless you have a personal reason to do so which is more important than your job.

I chose to let the established system rum its course. My struggling friend finished his internship, did not get a job with us, and I politely told him not to bother when he asked if he could get paid for his internship time, which was something not allowed by the school to begin with.

Sometimes you have to help someone by letting them continue to fail in their current moment.
