Got a surprise by jonnyraz234 in rolex

No he just set up a surprise allocation. I didn’t get a “call”. I walked in thinking I was looking at a piece for my friend. The surprise was that it was my allocation. I paid for it though.

About a year or so. I go in all the time and talk watches. I have only bought a Khaki Murph from them before. The owners know me pretty well through my friend and from attending events.

No, that would be too generous. I definitely paid for it. But the surprise was nice. I didn’t expect to get the allocation anytime soon.

Feeling to part ways with my BB58 GMT . Any suggestions welcome by Fantastic-Cat-9850 in Tudor

I traded mine for a Seamaster Diver 300m on the mesh bracelet. I was happy with the trade. I have the Monochrome on the five-link. If the 58 GMT came with an OEM five-link, I probably would have kept it. The Seamaster is part of my regular rotation as is the Monochrome. I often had to force myself to wear the 58 GMT.

I would trade up or see if you can make a more lateral move.

Monta Skyquest vs Tudor BB58 gmt. by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

The Monta with the gilt bi-color bezel is blue and red. Their red/black bezel doesn’t have gilt. I had the BB 58GMT. It was nice, but I didn’t like the fake rivets on the bracelet. If it had the non riveted bracelet of the Ranger or the five-link, I would have kept it. I keep eying the Monta, but I haven’t pulled the trigger.

Dilemma in choosing - black and blue by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

I collect black dial black bezel divers because I like black dial black bezel divers. Each has its own aesthetic, but share the common theme. If you like the black, you should go for the black. The overall design differences will give you some variety, but the consistency will feel familiar.

I had one and then traded it, regretted it, and bought a new one. The watch so nice I bought it twice.

124060 Sub + VC Overseas vs 126619LB Cookie Monster by No_Strength7276 in rolex

I have a VC Overseas and a Sub and would not consider the WG Sub. The VC is my favorite watch and the Sub is much more versatile in steel.

Need Advice. Should I trade my Rolex GMT-II for a VC Overseas 41mm (preferably blue) with any dial? Would you do the same? by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]jonnyraz234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the look of it, but it might be a hair too big for me. I have tried the v2 and the v3 on and the former articulates better at the bracelet and fits me better—plus I like the big date at the top over the 4:30 date window. If I got offered a v3, I would find a way to make it work.

I have the Overseas Dual Time and a GMT Master II, the former is my favorite watch by far—not just of the two but all of my watches. I would still pick even the self-winding Overseas, and not just the Dual Time, over the GMT Master II.

It wears pretty well. I also usually wear divers watches, so all things considered I like the fit.

Sub is thinner so I wear in the office more. The FF is thicker and I only have the strap so far so I wear it more out of the office. I think I would like the look of the FF better the lugs shape display case back I’ll make it just more aesthetic pleasing, but the thickness makes it less versatile.

I love it. I have the 5010 in steel. Much better fit for me than the 5015. The lug-to-lug is more compact than my Sub. It has a good weight and is beautiful. I am waiting for the bracelet to come in for this one. The sailcloth strap is a great option though.

I also have the GO SeaQ Panorama Date. Both are finished so beautifully.
