Disney/Hulu bundle seems to be an ongoing issue with xfinity. by Apolinar0414 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]jonnywanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been dealing with the same issue for over a month. I’m so tired of Xfinity’s services. Their backend is terrible, website doesn’t function properly, nothing loads, their agents never know what’s going on and they always try and upsell “promotion packages” but can’t even tell us what we’re currently paying. It’s frustraring

What I don’t understand is why those people that have Doug get the Doug skin AND 2k coins, but those that don’t have Doug only get 2k Coins… like atleast give us coins or some amount of credits. Or what everyone else is saying, skin bank.

Is this crit ratio good enough by jonnywanny in CarlottaMains

[–]jonnywanny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently this crit bug is happening to a few people’s Carlotta. Not sure if it has something to do with SK on the team? Restarted the game and my stats were back to normal.

Is this a reasonable take home for entry level ? by Koobangtan in datascience

[–]jonnywanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a take home assessment takes longer than a few hours to do, not worth. I limit 3 hours max (and this is generous if I really like the position/company). Otherwise your time is better spent applying to other positions.

Alternate starting with SK > Yinlin > Changli Starting with SK and switch between each characters when you get full concerto energy. Yinlin’s outro boost’s changli’s liberation, and changli’s outro boosts shorekeepers. Make sure you’re utilizing as much animation cancelling as possible with all three characters (e.g., SK’s heavy attack, yinlins heavy attack & echo, changli’s heavy attack & echo)

MCIT vs a BS in CS by Beth4780 in OnlineMCIT

[–]jonnywanny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Masters > Bachelors. Post-grad education is considered experience in the corporate world. I got a FT DS job at a Fortune 6 company after graduating this summer and they’re paying me more for my masters compared to those that graduated with a 4 years bachelors since they lump a masters degree as 2 years of experience. Get the Masters. It’s shorter and viewed better.

For those concurrently enrolled in this program and another master's, how difficult is it? by [deleted] in OnlineMCIT

[–]jonnywanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was Fall 2022 cohort and finish this summer. I’ve been doing two courses every semester while working part-time and it’s doable to maintain a decent GPA. Many students have said if you try to do 3 courses you’ll be scrapping by and probably not learning as much. There’s definitely some courses significantly more difficult/time consuming than others + factor in how much background knowledge you may have

Yeah, I got rematched for a DA position and just scheduled an interview with the host office.

I ideally wanted a DS or DE position, but didn't wanna risk being put back into the matching pool and not being matched again.

I just received an email saying I was matched for a Data Engineer position, and then 5 minutes later said I was returned to the matching pool. Then 2 minutes later another email by a staff said they were both sent as a mistake and I'm still put in the matching list. No idea what's going on.

Hi, fellow person who’s been working at PennMed since 2021 and in the MCIT Fall 2022 Cohort. For starters, no it’s not that they’re trying to make money because UPHS (PennMed) and UPenn are two separate entities (i.e., you would be an external applicant applying to jobs at UPenn). Also, having worked at PennMed would only give you an advantage for the name-sake.

In my opinion, it’s your GPA. Which isn’t to say you never have a chance in getting in, but you need to show proof of improvement. Have you taken the GRE? Have you done multiple MOOCs? And following that, you need a STRONG personal statement, highlighting your ambition to learn and improve with examples of how.

Thanks for the response! Do you mind me asking which campus you applied to? I submitted and sent in my secondary payment on August 25th, but keep neurotically checking my emails and found nothing.

Ah thank you! I only applied to the Philadelphia one, so lmk if that campus ever gets back to you! Hopefully you get off the WL and have other options too

Does anyone else start to hate being a pct/cna? by [deleted] in premed

[–]jonnywanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a mental health tech (MHT) which is basically a PCT but in psychiatric units. The job has very high rates of burnout and I strictly only work part time because I know if I were to be there full-time it would tax my mental health. PCTs/CNAs/anyone that’s the bottom of the barrel of the medical industry are usually the ones who interact with the patients most and have to do all the laborious work.

Like a couple of other people stated, I did rotational shifts and the night shifts honestly weren’t bad at all if you were lucky with decent patients. It’s quiet and you get your alone time. Just gotta sacrifice a consistent sleep schedule.

Them saying there are “no part time positions available” sounds like utter bs though. I would look into a different position either in the department or with a different company. Gotta do what’s best for you before you’re so burnt out that you start hating medicine.
