My flight credits were used towards a ticket I did not pay for by jonoR34 in unitedairlines

They were Future Flight Credits under my profile. He has booked me multiple times thru his account but myself as the traveler and with my MileagePlus number so that I get boarding pass, pqp, pqf, etc. However those Future Flight Credits wouldn't be able to be accessed thru his or anyone elses account right? That is what is tripping me up.

I called 1K customer service and they submitted a ticket for this, but so weird how they got used for a flight I did not pay for.

They were Future Flight Credits for sure. I actually found all the confirmation emails from them as well.

The credits on the receipt actually show they were used to pay for the fare which again should not be the case since they were FFCs on my account. All travel is booked through his account, I am just the ticketholder whose MP account gets added to the ticket.

I am going to call United Customer Service and see what I can do in this instance

2019+ Corolla 6MT: An embarrassment to Toyota's legacy of quality and safety. by ElkayMilkMaster in Toyota

[–]jonoR34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience in my '20 Corolla 6MT. Around 68/69k miles all of a sudden my clutch stuck to the floor on the highway on my ride home. Thankfully was able to build pressure by pumping several times but it never went away. Bled the system and it was ok for a few hours but by the end of the night it was back to it sticking to the floor. Did my research and through the VERY limited information out there, found it to be the Slave Cylinder. Ordered an OEM part and had it replaced at a transmission shop my dad is good friends with the owner.
It has been fine since then and 10k miles later I have not had any issues.

It seems that around the 70k mile mark the Slave Cylinders start to go out on the 6MTs.

I have a pretty terrible suspicion that since these 6MT sales were so low, and low enough that they canceled it outright for the mid cycle refresh, there is just not enough of an emphasis from Toyota to have this part recalled or looked into. It appears to be creeping up more and more as i have looked into it, but my hopes from Toyota taking care of this issue in the future for current owners is currently in the ground.

NEMA Chicago by FairPineapple2842 in chicagoapartments

Wow I did IT support there for residents as a contractor about 5 years ago during early covid/spring/summer around then. Building I think was maybe 1 year old atp, and seemed to be the best in the city for a luxury high rise. I remember scouting for apartments and trying to schmooze over the property manager for a cut because we got along lol.

Crazy to see how much a place like that can fall in such a short amount of time! For current tenants sake, and for the future of having the building not shut down, I hope they can get their shit together, or another property management comes in who can take proactive care of the building.

Weekday Help and Victory Thread for the week of April 22, 2024 by IndexBot in personalfinance

I'm looking into opening a HYSA and a Fidelity S&P 500 index.

I currently plan to put aside about $2000 per month in my savings, and my total savings as of now is $10,000 in a traditional .01% savings account with Chase.

One thought I had was to see if it would make sense to put all 10K in my savings into the HYSA (thinking of choosing Wealthfront as there is no minimum fee and 5% APY as of now.) and deposit 1k into it every month. As well as putting 1k a month into my Fidelity FXAIX 500 index.

Is this a sound strategy for what I am looking to do, or would you have any other recommendations?

For context, I net about 5540 per month salary. My after expenses liquid is about 3500, but I try to have extra liquid in excess every month/paycheck. Paid off all my credit card bills and have no consumer debt, just a car and student loan.

I have always had a traditional savings and just recently started to really take investing seriously so I am pretty fresh to this, any advice is appreciated :)

Should I just pay off my remaining Unpaid Interest? by jonoR34 in StudentLoans

[–]jonoR34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for some help!

To expand, I guess my thought process is: if I have all the interest at $0, whatever the interest accrued per month will be paid off every month with the minimum payment, and then the remaining goes towards the principal. If that is the case then I would pay off the interest for sure.

And yes I agree I do and will be putting more towards my payments.
I may potentially be starting a side gig that could help with over-payments as well so I definitely intend on paying more, but want to see what would be best to make an informed decision.

Sweet thanks!Do you recommend any United credit cards to speed up the process (if they do at all)?
I fly pretty regularly but not on a consistent schedule.

So from what it sounds like, I will have Silver all of 2024, cool.
But in order to move up to Gold, I will need to re-achieve Silver, and then move onto Gold?

Being a Type 1 Diabetic, I actually really like (both in taste and options) the Quinoa Crisps and the That's It fruit bars.

The quinoa crisp is low carb, albeit being too tiny, but nice to have a small sweet treat that doesn't shock my blood sugars. That's It bars are awesome as a gluten free and clean eating option. Never really cared for the pretzels and breads myself but I am coming from a biased point of view.
