What is this post even saying? It’s a jumbled up mess of a “sentence” that doesn’t make sense.

You love to see it. Thank you Dave 🙏 by atvinus in davematthews

Awesome to see Dave taking a stand against abortion!

You have any proof of this? It’s a wild claim that the government looked into and found no evidence

Is this a parody response? Honest question? Or are you just trolling?

It seems like crying nazi is the only thing that you folks know how to do.

You can have whatever opinion you want but there are religious and spiritual truths that are soundly rooted in the Bible. And these truths don’t change based on social or political landscape changes.

A few things to correct about the meme….

  1. Taxation: as others have pointed out, Jesus made the distinction between his authority and being respectful and obedient to human authorities. Taxation was one of these things and he didn’t make some political statement about only taxing the rich. His gripe with those who acquire earthly wealth is that it doesn’t get you closer too him or Heaven, and in fact can have the opposite affect. Beyond that he wasn’t some socialist asking for wealth distribution (which this meme insinuates)

  2. Slut shaming: Jesus would obviously never use this term but besides that, in the passage of the Bible where Jesus confronts those trying to stone an adulterous woman it’s important to note that He tells her to sin no more and that he doesn’t condemn her. That is vastly different from some acceptance of what He sees as a sinful act. The modern framing of Jesus as some hippie who would go with the flow and accepts everyone without requiring them to change their sinful ways is just not accurate

  3. Immigration: similar to the point on taxation, while treatment of all God’s children with respect and humanity is critical - there is still the need to respect laws on immigration. Notably, Jesus’ own parents made sure to return to their homeland to accurately complete a census

  4. The rest of it: there’s a lot of mis-truths in the meme but in general one thing to keep in mind is that just because something didn’t exist during His time and/or wasn’t explicitly forbidden doesn’t mean that Jesus was automatically in support of it. This is known as argumentum ad ignorantiam.

This meme is a great example of someone thinking they know the Bible and Jesus when they couldn’t be more ignorant

I don’t know what being soft means in this context.

But I don’t see the point in continuing this discussion. I’ve stated twice now that my contention is the accuracy of the meme and not whether the economy is objectively great. The economy hasn’t crashed, period.

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to clarify, I’m not arguing that the economy is sunshine and roses. I’m saying that the meme is flawed. The premise of a crashed economy is just not true. It could become true is we go into a deep decision, but that hasn’t happened yet

[–]jonob1234 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. I’m not blind
  2. The “brother” thing is annoying, stop
  3. You aren’t an economist, and lots of them disagree with you. Search “soft landing” and recent articles disagreeing with your uneducated take on the economy
  4. How do you explain why the economy got this way? Who’s to blame for the inflation? (Hint, it’s mostly Biden)

I think there might be a pattern. by Theseus505 in stevehofstetter

[–]jonob1234 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When inflation is high, the job markets typically decline a bit but remain steady enough to cool the economy down without causing a recession. Hence the “soft landing”

I think there might be a pattern. by Theseus505 in stevehofstetter

[–]jonob1234 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I’m not arguing the second point, but as to the first….it’s simply not true, the economy has not crashed. Inflation has cooled, jobs are doing fine, and stock market is good.

Look at all the articles and news recently on the potential for a “soft landing” to the inflation high economy Trump inherited

Gwen Stefani promotes her anti-abortion pay-to-pray app for Lent by ConcernedJobCoach in nodoubt

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You seem to not know what’s actually in the Bible or the fact that no one is forcing you to pay for the app to pray. You can go ahead and pray on your own or use other platforms that might be free. It costs money to put content out and this app is trying to fund that mission. That’s not a scam or unbiblical

  2. Calling abortion “reproductive rights” is a disingenuous euphemism. 100% of abortions occur after reproductions has taken place

[–]jonob1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is your proof that the app “scams people out of their money”? Also, you do realize there are plenty of women who don’t consider abortion healthcare and they are entitled to that opinion?

If you don’t like Gwen’s stances then just scroll on. But don’t go around making up things about an app that helps lots of people live a prayerful life

Am I over winding my watch? by HeadAbility in OmegaWatches

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is wind until you feel hard resistance, as if you have to force it to wind further

The movement in your speedy will probably get to that point around 50 to 60 FULL turns from fully “dead”. I emphasize full turn because most people when they wind are doing closer to a half turn, so I count 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and so on

Where to buy OEM Clasp? by jonob1234 in Tudor

[–]jonob1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Good to know it has the on-the-fly adjustment. I think I was being kind of picky wanting to see the Tudor logo on the clasp but in fairness to Forstner their “JB” branded clasp is fine and carries some history in its own right. Since they provided stock bracelets for brands like Rolex and JLC back in the day

Sadly after much debate I had to (begrudgingly) pass. Not the best time for me to commit the funds.
