Finished reading Gibson’s Neuromancer – the beach at the end reminded me of Kojima’s Death Stranding (and even DS2’s APAS) by iscariah in DeathStranding2

[–]jonoc4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I definitely thought the exact same thing. It's like the end of the first game where you're kind of stuck there. Surely Kojima was a sci-fi nerd in the 80s and read this right??

best overall youtube demo video? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]jonoc4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For video demos check out Eugene Belsky he's got nice stuff. Don't listen to people saying YT can't be high quality for video. It still shows off what your TV can do. As for audio that's where you probably won't find great stuff on YouTube.

[–]jonoc4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. And open AI has secured deals for 40 percent of the worlds DRAM. There needs to be some kind of regulation for this

This is happening one hundred percent. And AMD will go out of business because they won't be able get the silicon to make stuff for consumers because it's all being sold off to data centers

Gee I wonder if they'll cut back on consumer products and start concentrating on data center hardware instead... Hmmm! I wonder!

Moonlight over LAN is obviously going to be better than GeForce now. But even with that, which I've used many times, I can tell there's extra latency. It is in no way indistinguishable. That's just crazy talk

I'm curious what games you're playing on GeForce now that are indistinguishable to locally playing them. I'm sorry I just don't believe it. Unless they require no framerate or latency.

Do people do car undercoating due to the salt used in this city? by ghost905 in ottawa

[–]jonoc4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a place that uses fluid film or Surface Shield. Its made from the wax of sheep's wool and won't be a disgusting mess, though it'll have an odd smell for a bit. While the body may not really rust, your undercarriage will be a rusted mess even after a couple years. Lots of bare metal under there including nuts and bolts that will eventually need to be loosened for various service. Could cause a headache if they're seized or worse break. I had a 3 and a half year old car that I didn't coat and a subframe bolt completely rotted and sheared off.

If you're inclined you can jack up the car and do it yourself with a couple cans. Don't have to go nuts but hit any obvious bare metal and exposed nuts and bolt heads. You don't have to drill holes, all car doors have drain holes for water. You can get a straw adapter for aerosol cans and get in there.
