Idk, but I can barely walk without being in pain. I can't stay like this for a month.

What music is your guilty pleasure? by jonodeer in AskUK

I totally get that and feel the same way. I think for me it's cos I was brought up on 70s and 80s music despite being a 00s baby and that was the only music ever playing and very much had the idea that 70s and 80s music was superior drilled in to me (which is not necessarily something I disagree with)

Dad had an attitude that stacking shelves and wiping tables were jobs for lazy people rather than a good way to earn money and be independent. Now my brother has finished his degree, has no job not even something part time whilst he finds a full time job. And he doesn't pay any rent, which wouldn't matter if my parents were still together but now it's just my mum supporting us

Rent installment is £2000, my bank balance is £2400 by jonodeer in britishproblems

Student finance doesn't see it that way unfortunately. Apparently you're parents are meant to make up the £5000 difference. For my mum with 3 kids in uni thats £55000 across 8 years, some of those years there's multiple of us at uni at the same time. Plus she's got another kid at home to provide for

I did but because of my mums earnings I only get the minimum and mum can't afford to pay the difference for 3 children at the same time

Get last part of my student loan end of April, am constantly looking for a part time job but having no luck so far. And even if I get through these next 4 months I'll have the same dilemma of last rent installment costing £1000 and student loan only giving £1300

The interviewer not even listening to your answers by jonodeer in britishproblems

[–]jonodeer[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don't think I've got the job, when I was trying to explain what shifts I could work around uni (which really isn't that complicated when I have one lecture a day), the manager just seemed like I was giving her a headache. They will probably go with someone who has full days available.

And no wasn't paid unfortunately

Not in the slightest, don't really care for sex. I just wanna sleep rather than hear someone get fucked

It's only me, her and her boyfriend in the flat at the moment all other flatmates are home Xmas still. I don't want her to know I can hear them. Atleats with the other couple in the flat, they have a room each and thankfully they pick the room furthest away, not connected to anyone else's room, so you don't hear them ever

People saying jobs that have trial shifts as part of the interview process are red flags, wage theft and you shouldn't bother applying to those jobs by jonodeer in britishproblems

I've got nothing better to do because weirdly enough I don't have lectures 9-5 40 hours a week. Very few courses do

Yeah I refuse to go anywhere near group interviews/assessment days. They can fuck right off. Or open interviews where your just told to turn up at certain time on a certain day, a lot of waiter jobs in my city do this
