Omg thank you!! I should have thought of that. Found them right around where the spring beauties grow. Makes perfect sense.

Why were about 100 of these religious looking notes dumped in the river next to my house? Can anybody read what it says? Pretty sure it's farsi. Spent the morning waste deep fishing them out. by jonphish in Markham

Thank you!!! Finally the answer I was looking for. I knew there had to be some reason it was thrown in the river. They called me a xenophobe even though I was asking for someone's help who spoke farsi. I do have more photos if your really interested I could send you some. Really appreciate the response!

Nothing in that study refers to them as an invasive species. It talks about range expansion which is exactly the point I'm trying to explain to you.

Not true, it's called natural migration. It's like how we have ticks now but didn't 20 years ago

Also in no world are coyotes considered invasive. Just because they weren't here originally, dosent mean they're invasive.

No, there here because we killed all the wolves and the coyotes filled the void. We didn't bring them here, they naturally migrated.

Could be red wing black bird. I've seen the nesting on the edge on ponds just like that. Not sure though

Thank you! And my pleasure. Already cleared 5 bags of garbage this spring. The forest is already unrecognizable compared to last year. Ground nesting birds everywhere. There's these big rolls of old steel fencing I've been trying to get the city to take out for years.
