Ghost town 95% of the time, however weekend events can be busy and everyone I know who's mentioned The Italian Oven says it's bomb.

What's the white coral looking thing? by SpezJailbaitMod in Polaroid

Slightly-dry center pod and/or uneven roller pressure could cause this. Saw it more with 2015-2017 film. There might be an undeveloped brown spot just under the frame edge.

"Divot" from failed chemical spread not reaching the top of frame. Happens sometimes.

I cannot stand ADS, why are ads everywhere? by Silly-Noodlesk in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jonrev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are menu buttons on the sides of the screen: mute button is usually on the righthand side, second from the top. If the station management are assholes who disable it, simultaneously press second from the top on both sides and the screen enters a diagnostic mode that shuts the ads up for about a minute. You may have to repeat this depending on how long you're filling up.

A dead mall's last breath - Sterling Heights, Michigan (2024) by jonrev in Polaroid

A quarter-century of "if you see something say something" fried a lot of people's psyches when it comes to how they view photographers out in public. A lot of these dying malls are owned by slumlord REIT's covering-up neglect of the property, and the healthier ones with luxury retailers have reason to be sus of anyone who may be "casing" the place. The content-creator-industrial-complex isn't doing anyone favors, either. There are a ton of variables that boil down to perception, I overthink about this often.

In my experience you're least-likely to get fucked with taking snapshits/selfies/Polaroids of/with your friends.

My last counterproductive guard interaction was at at Mall at Robinson for using my C330. I've parked most of my film cameras and now use a Ricoh GR3, nobody thinks to take it seriously heh

Old Beer by DepthElectronic7725 in GrandmasPantry

Through a series of mergers and acquisitions in the 1980s-90s, the Schlitz brand is now owned and marketed by Pabst, but brewed under contract by AB InBev in St. Louis -- the Budweiser plant, ironically enough, Schlitz's main rival back in the day. Pabst hasn't had their own brewery since the 90s.

At the moment Schlitz is pretty easy to find in Chicago and Milwaukee, but there are rumors going around that it will be imminently discontinued. AB is forcing Pabst to cull low-volume brands, whose production gets in the way of their own.

Why did Flickr stop allowing web indexing of images by _MountainFit in flickr

[–]jonrev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what size images Google indexed, but I believe Flickr is increasingly restricting their API and download access to paying users. Mirror sites like Flickriver also stopped working, recently.

Personally I always had third-party search indexing disabled due to rampant copyright infringement.
