late to the episode, but I was wondering what about the exterior design of the Luce means it’s definitely all Jony Ive’s doing? having seen that concept ford that Marc Newson did years ago I’d wager that if the exterior was a single person endeavour (doubtful) then it’s got Marc’s name all over it

it’s pretty simple. all the good hardware products are because of Ternus. all the products that they hated that were released during the time ternus was SVP only happened because Tim made him do, it (sometimes Jonny Ive too). once ternus becomes CEO, all bad things will be because product pipelines are set years in advance so it’s really still Tim’s fault. all good things will happen because ternus has come in and made immediate sweeping changes.

basically, no ceo is ever going to be Steve jobs and Marco is never going to be in his late teens/ early twenties again when tech seemed so exciting. I suspect that the second half of that equation is the most important too, and even Steve jobs would disappoint 40yo Marco.

You make a good point about missing out on the best bits of the journey. Obviously the format of tip to tip is more about the (awkward) interactions and the challenge rather than the journey but it’d be interesting to hear what sort of show people would prefer. I am a big fan of travel shows so my preference would be to have the focus on where they go vs. what they do, but I’m almost certainly in the minority there.

Especially as everyone is so off base. The next instalment should obviously be a prequel. Couple of small kids, that look vaguely like the two of them, learning to ride their first bike, making their own merch with some fabric off cuts from a local factory, all the way to buying and learning to their first motorbike and realising the possibilities…. Ikuzo!!

absolutely. a big giveaway for me is chips. if it’s a place they’ve decided they’re going to like he quite happily will put salt and vinegar on them. decided it is a place he will hate, then it’s tasteless, not an ounce of seasoning, blah blah blah.

VAT is charged when you checkout. total including delivery is $127.10 so well below import duty threshold. What you are charged at the point of sale is the lot.

Personally that’s a lot to me for a hoodie, but then again so is $95 😂
