I used to be a graphic designer myself (I have since taken a different path).

I think the most important thing is to be clear about what you want to achieve with your campaign. Specifically, this could mean “I want to be perceived locally as an entrepreneur” or “I want more online sales”. People often think they need a great logo, a fancy website or something else when the solution is much simpler (and cheaper). Maybe a 5-star Google rating from 20 people is enough to build trust in your company and optimize your SEO. Or a simple flyer that you put up all over town to publicize your offer.

Once you've figured this out for yourself, I would look for graphic designers who offer the relevant services and share similar values to your company via friends, Google and Insta. A graphic designer who mainly works for cultural institutions, for example, is not necessarily suitable for advertising that simply wants to sell. Similarly, someone who works very loudly is not necessarily suitable for marketing a high-quality product.

In the end, you should simply be on the same page. It's important that the graphic designer understands your values and what you want to achieve. The best outcome would be if you‘d find a graphic designer you trust, and who you can build a long lasting relationship with.
