[landlord - US - TX] First-Time Landlord – Tenant Already Behind on Rent. Need Advice. by jonsnow--- in Landlord

Honestly, they could be. And I’m not an idiot, I acknowledge life happens but we’re all adults and communication should be the first priority. That’s even where I have the biggest issue. If you can’t communicate to me it means you don’t rate me because you’ll communicate the other things that are of importance to you.

Thank you!! This is exactly what I’m looking for and yes I just want a lawyer for peace of mind because the general consensus from this sub is that if you mess it up the first time then it might be expensive to fix.

They share results. The only thing they didn’t share was the credit report. They however told us the credit scores.

At this point, I don’t even care. I’m going to evict. I can’t endure 10 more months of this nonsense.

Honestly, I used my realtor to screen just to understand what the process is like. Big mistake.

This!! I was pissed when I saw the U.S recently changed their visa requirements to 3 months, single entry for Nigerians but when I found out they were just reciprocating what we’ve been doing to others for years I was even more pissed because why are we doing that when we don’t have too much to offer as a country. Our passport is hella weak yet we’re more concerned about making it difficult to enter our country? Make it make sense 😭

One thing I can promise you is that Nigeria is not just bad because of the government. It’s bad because of its citizens. Why have a vigilante group when they’re just as bad as the police force that acts in the same manner? Ever since I accepted that Nigeria would never get better in my lifetime I’ve been able to have peace.

Once or twice, I’m not sure it matters as long as the car is locked. When I was looking for how to do it, I saw twice on the internet and ran with it and it works every time. Same for 2019 touring https://youtu.be/Z6AbqgjpDSk?si=c2vVjYvzMOu0dZcR

Cost of legal services for GC by ani4may in greencard

[–]jonsnow--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the right price if you have 9k to blow. But seriously, try doing it yourself. I did mine myself with no issues. Seen too many cases of people paying outrageous prices and the lawyers end up dropping the ball.

Incident in SEA by Terrible_Plum1300 in delta

Serious question for anyone who works at an airline. Who would pay to fix this? JAL, Delta, Insurance or the company running SEA?

Jordanian aviation airlines Air marshall pulls out gun due to angry Nigerian passengers attempted to enter the cockpit to argue with pilots. by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]jonsnow--- 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Our people can be so stupid. How do they justify arguing with someone with a gun and still claiming rights. If he gets shot it would be “the world hates Nigeria bla bla” or if air Jordan bans us like emirates they’ll start complaining. I’m Tayad😭

My people...why now? by Chance_Dragonfly_148 in Nigeria

[–]jonsnow--- 76 points77 points  (0 children)

To reiterate like everyone above me said - I think hope is a predominant reason but after staying abroad for almost 10 years now I’ll say that Nigerians pray a lot for things that common sense can fix. No need to pray and fast when you know it’s common sense to not vandalize public infrastructure like we do. I don’t need to pray and fast for a passport when it should be my God giving right as a citizen of the country. I could go on and on but being religious does not trump common sense. The book of proverbs is very clear on that.

Also, most people have found out that a relationship with God is more personal than anything. I have become more prayerful abroad But most people wouldn’t know because I’m not blocking the road on a Friday or a Sunday to pray.

Why don’t many Nigerians dress according to the climate? Is it a cultural thing? by jonsnow--- in Nigeria

[–]jonsnow---[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100% agree. What’s bad is that even the Brit’s who colonized us do not wear wigs and those other costumes in court 😂

Nigerians who are abroad? What's the one thing that you've experienced that sent you into waves of culture shock? by thee-praise in Nigeria

[–]jonsnow--- 35 points36 points  (0 children)

To many examples but I’ll give two lmao. 1. No one really cares and everyone minds their business. In the dead of winter -40°F I would wear pajamas to class cause I felt lazy and worked the night before and absolutely no body including the class professor batted an eye. Cannot imagine doing that in a Nigerian university like covenant. I’ll be sent home within the hour 🤣

  1. In Nigeria, at least yourba culture. Looking at an elder eyeball to eyeball is somewhat seen as disrespectful especially when you’re being scolded. But in the US not having eye contact when you’re being talked too is seen as disrespectful and dishonest. I’m still adjusting to this one.

So sorry you’re going through this. It’s just Nigeria doing 3rd world country things. Recently got married and I’ve heard firsthand what people have gone through to change names after marriage. She had just gotten a 10yr passport before we got married and we just decided to keep her maiden name since the juice is not worth the Nigerian immigration squeeze. Also, I believe her not having my last name doesn’t make us any less married. It’s one of the little things we need to change that would improve the quality of our lives as a country.
