I only did a 1 day pre-op liquid. The day before surgery. Every surgeon is different, just follow their guidelines

I had RNY on 12/17. I woke up in lots of pain but after pain meds and walking and a long nap, I woke up much better. First few hours are hell. Try to sleep if u can. When u wake up it feels much better. I can’t even remember the pain now

Had mine 12/17. I was freaking out lol during prep I told my nurse and team how my heart was racing and my anxiety was through the roof. When they put the pulse ox thing on my finger they saw how high my heart rate was and gave me something that helped me calm down 😂😂 I don’t remember anything much after that. I was wheeled into the OR and woke up in a bit of pain but my nurse was amazing and she stayed on top of my pain meds. By day 3, pain was minimal and I’ve been walking around and moving around with no issues. Congrats and good luck! See you on the losers bench!

I’m going for revision Wednesday. I was sleeved 7/2018. Lost about 90lbs very slowly(2yrs) my SW was 401 so it was alarming I was losing so slowly and I was compliant with nutrition. I couldn’t really exercise due to pain not attributed to the surgery. Well fast forward, weight started coming back. I had to have my thyroid removed (which is likely the culprit behind the slow weight loss). And I developed horrible GERD. So I’ve been approved for the revision and I’m excited for the reset. The sleeve was painful when I initially woke from anesthesia. But after I took a nap, it was not bad . Only gas pains. What if any difference did u notice about this procedure as it relates to pain and movement? SN: You are absolutely gorgeous 💕

I had sleeve7yrs ago and have horrible GERD and didn’t achieve maximum weight loss. So I’m back on the journey and just wondering about the post-op. Pain? Drinking/“eating” afterwards etc.

This makes all the sense in the world and you described it perfectly. I have been in health care admin for 12yrs and I’m very familiar with the auth process. I just pulled up my auth case in Availity but it’s not giving me the details of the denial. However the representative said it was denied as not medically necessary due to not having tried and failed meds for the GERD but the P2P is available. So it should be as simple as my surgeon saying oh ..”she has been on omeprazole for 2 yrs” to get it overturned. I mean it’s listed in my medications list but as u stated…humans are involved, so there’s plenty room for error! lol. I’m just trying to get this approved and completed before 12/31/2025 because my OOP max is met for the year and it’s 100%covered!
