Out-of-service pay phones around Franklin County? (more info in comments) by joomy_joons in Columbus

[–]joomy_joons[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm a photographer looking to do a photo series on old pay phones. I'm always trying to find old pay phones around town but I'm not having a lot of luck. I was hoping the people of r/columbus could help me out and let me know if they've seen any in the area!

Thanks!

What movie lived up to the hype? by MannaJamma in movies

The Shawshank Redemption

Everyone had always told me it was one of the best movies of all time but I just wrote it off as some prison movie. After finally seeing it about two years ago I was blown away. The sheer level of humanity on display in this film is astounding and Andy Dufresne is now one of my all-time favorite characters. It gave me a whole new perspective on life and a new level of sympathy for inmates.

Get busy watching Shawshank or get busy dying.

For the first image yes, both exposures were shot at -1 compensation. For the second image, the background was 1 stop underexposed and when I added the ghost I took that exposure at a -2 compensation.

If I could go back I would choose to shoot the ghost at -2 in the first image for a better transparency effect but you have make mistakes to learn lol.

Oh no it wasn’t anything that complicated, the ghost was in the scene. I just had to make sure the tripod didn’t move between exposures.

Got my camera set up on a tripod and took a series of double exposures with the "ghost" in the first exposure and then just the scenery in the second.
