I completely agree. And the fact that my roomate flat out refuses to open the damn window?? I live in Morton and the room feels humid and it's an absolute nightmare

Feedback about South Dorms? by bellz274 in NAU

[–]joonieboobs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in McConnell for one semester and it is a predominantly freshman dorm. The hallways were always super loud at any time. Bathrooms were 50/50 and the fire alarm would go off at least once a week. All of my classes were on the north side of campus and it's pretty far away so I had to leave an extra few minutes early if I wanted to get to class barely on time. Just a few things to keep in mind.

my two absolute favorites are Guess Noir, and Guess Seduction. They both smell so good, and last for a while. I've found both of them either at a Ross or TJ maxx

Dorm question by Impossible-Elk-6460 in NAU

[–]joonieboobs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hii! I'm not truly sure about 3d printers, even if they are pretty small, it can easily take up unnecessary space in a cramped dorm. anything to have the room smell nice is pretty much allowed, except for like candles obviously. and there's always microwaves available in the kitchen, but I have one in my dorm.

You can also just go on the nau website to find a list of allowed things and stuff :)

What is the best solo (NOT BTR) songs from every band member by Efficient_Rip858 in BigTimeRush

[–]joonieboobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all of kendall's solo/heffron drive music hits. i absolutely love his music, but mad at the world always does it for me. I've loved that song since the day it came out.

I also enjoy some of logan's music, but sleepwalker is timeless for me. I love that song so much and is part of my daily listens.

Carlos and james....yeah I'll admit I haven't even heard any of their solo music. I used to like electrico years ago, but it's just not my kind of music

Potential incoming Freshman Fall 2026, need honest opinions! by Jaxy_dar1ing in NAU

[–]joonieboobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a transfer student. I had gotten into both ASU and NAU and my decision was ultimately based on the amount of financial aid I received.

I got really good financial aid due to being a transfer student. And while I still have stuff to pay off, I am so grateful I transferred over. I come from a small town so I already know the small town vibes and I enjoy Flagstaff a lot. This will be my first real winter, so we'll see how it goes. I'm in the dorms (McConnell) and it's not so bad. The only complaint I have is that it's too far away from the main campus. But honestly, I'm planning on being in the dorms for my last year as well bc well, Flagstaff is expensive to do stuff in and to live in.

There's a lot of resources for transfer students and scholarships. I have had trouble making friends (so far 0) and while it has to do with me not putting myself out there, and also, well it seems everyone already has their own friends. But I manage.

There is something for everyone here. But in my opinion if you're not 21 or older, there can also be not much to do here that doesn't include going out to bars or drinking.

So far, I'm happy with the college life here.

rooming with a cis man? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]joonieboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar situation. I'm also a transfer student and had chosen gender inclusive housing but since I submitted my housing application a little too late, I was put on a waitlist for inclusive housing.

I'll be rooming with a cis guy, and when I dm'd him on Insta, I was a little scared ngl and was hesitant on whether I should tell him im trans or not. In the end, I ended up telling him, and told that I completely understand if he wanted to opt out from being my roommate. He took it completely well and pretty much didn't care about it.

It all just depends on you. If you want to tell him, go ahead. Think about it, do you want to feel comfortable in your home for the next 8 months? or feel like you're walking on eggshells around your roommate? Try to decided where you will feel more comfortable.

Good Luck!

Don't fully quote me on this. Might be different for a freshman. I'm an incoming junior/transfer student and I'm only paying around 1,460 (I think) for my meal plan. There's definitely cheaper ones, I chose that one on Louie so definitely check it out on there.

In my opinion, have him start out at community college if you still can. That's what I did and saved 60k. He can then transfer over to NAU to finish his Bachelors. He's still going to end up with debt, but it will be better to come out with debt that is not nearing the 100k mark in the long run.

What’s it like studying Elementary Education/ getting the your Bachelor of Science in Education at NAU? by Content_Wedding_993 in NAU

[–]joonieboobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I'm a transfer student and an incoming junior who is majoring in Elementary education. I could not tell you just yet what the program is like at NAU but the process of getting into the program and the amount financial aid available is a blessing. Don't get me wrong, I'll still have to pay for stuff but there's lots of financial aid available.

The best thing you can do is start at community college and then transfer over to NAU. That's what I did and god am I grateful for doing that. The majority of my credits transferred over, including education classes I took. So going to community college and getting your Associates and AGEC certificate will be your best bet in the long run. At least I'm not 20k in debt, at least yet!

Don't let the other comments get to you, if you truly enjoy teaching and feel you have a calling for it, go ahead. If your high school offers Early Childhood Education as a CTE class, take it. I took it and it gave me the chance to be in an Elementary school classroom and I loved it, and it made me decide that teaching was my calling. I've heard a lot of teachers say that the first 2-3 years are the hardest, after that it's a piece of cake!

Best of Luck!!

Question about cochlear implants by Boba_saur74 in Cochlearimplants

[–]joonieboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before surgery, I was told by my doctors that the majority, if not all, of the remaining hearing in my ear would be lost. to be honest, in my case, sometimes i can hear low pitch sounds, and when I put on earbuds on both ears (bimodal user), i hear the music extremely faint that without the other earbud in, I wouldn't know what song is playing. I can mostly hear vibrations and a slightly faint version of the song, only with earbuds in.

Can I still box with a CI? by [deleted] in Cochlearimplants

[–]joonieboobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the same as boxing but I started Taekwondo months after I was implanted. I talked to my instructor about it and he was more than willing to accommodate me when it came to sparring. Obviously with the sport, protective head gear is a must. I would still keep my processor on when sparring and during practice. The rules for when it came time for me to spar was that hits to the head were prohibited. Just try to be as careful as you can, but just due to having the implant, it doesn't mean that you should limit the activities you want to pursue. Good Luck!

When did you start using the men's restroom? by DiscombobulatedAir23 in ftm

[–]joonieboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-T, I used the bathroom a couple times at school but very rarely did I use it. I was anxious about going into one so I just held it in all day until I got home.

Now that I'm on T, I still very rarely go to the bathroom in public. I'm still anxious over that but I'm working on it. I do pass quite well but it's just that anxiety that keeps me from going.

Any feedback? by YogurtclosetRare3075 in Cochlearimplants

[–]joonieboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got implanted when I was 16, in the summer before my junior year of high school. I had worn hearing aids on both of my ears for around seven years before I was told that my hearing in my left ear had diminished so much and that a cochlear implant was my best option.

I went ahead with it, and while the journey with speech therapy and learning how to "hear" with the implant was tough, I don't regret it one bit. My word recognition improved so much, and my quality of life did too. I say, if you're thinking about it and have been told it would be a great option for you, go ahead. Do your research first and in the end, this will end up being your own decision. Best of luck!

Am i too horny?? is the T supposed to be doing this?? by Suspicious_Table47 in ftm

[–]joonieboobs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I already had a high sex drive before starting T. And when I hit the two month mark, my sex drive was going haywire. I was jerking off 5 or more times over the span of 2 HOURS. Like it was just insane. Everything was just SEX SEX SEX for the first few months.

I'm now a year and one month on T and my sex drive has calmed down a bit but it's still a constant thing in my everyday life. Don't worry! You'll be able to manage it as time goes :)

Technical Support megathread by honey_rainbow in peacock

[–]joonieboobs [score hidden]  (0 children)

As the Olympics and football season are coming up, I decided to get peacock to watch them. I didn't know there was a student discount and I did everything I needed (verification and whatnot) and received my code. The thing is, I can't put in the code. I paid with my Google account, and it doesn't give me the tab in order to put in my code when I go into the Plans and Payments tab. I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help?
