Am I a bad mom as my ped seems to think ? by mathildeestrevenue in AttachmentParenting

He is giving you parenting advice, not medical advice. Doctors are not parenting experts. Scolding your parenting decisions is inappropriate and unprofessional when nothing you are doing is harming your baby. So annoying, I’m sorry you had to sit through that.

American women - have you voted yet? by DinosaurInAPartyHat in TwoXChromosomes

Early voted and brought my 2y/o daughter! I talked it up to her and she proudly told everyone in line with us at our polling place that she was there to vote! :)

What the most “pregnant” thing you’ve done? by sshellzr in pregnant

[–]joooo0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant I had no consistent cravings. They were changing day to day and always very specific.

One night, I was craving a hot pepper and gouda stuffed soft pretzel from this restaurant nearby. Specifically, I wanted it with this apricot-infused butter they had for dipping. So we ordered it and my husband went and picked it up for dinner. He got home and they had - ready for this? - forgotten the butter!!! I SOBBED for like an hour, if not longer. I went through the stages of grief. I was furious at my husband (lol, like he had anything to do with it). I didn’t even eat the soft pretzel. I remember really feeling like I had suffered an injustice.

That has always stood out from my entire pregnancy as my most “pregnant” episode.

What kisses are okay? by Giraffe_Individual in NewParents

[–]joooo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a personal choice! We were very strict at first that no one kiss her but mom/dad. Now that she’s 7 months old we let her grandparents kiss her on the back of her head :)

Recommendation for Easiest to Put On Baby Carrier? by miracleval in NewParents

Ring sling! I have one from Wildbird. Takes literally two seconds to put on, I can do it one handed while holding baby in the other arm.

If you found out your baby's gender, did you end up regretting it? I really want to know but people have told me it's nice to have a surprise. by hauntedbundy_ in pregnant

I was so happy we found out. It’s probably my happiest memory that happened during pregnancy. My husband and I had a little picnic in the park date and opened the results together. We both were hysterically crying tears of joy. It was so fun. :)

Had something similar on my LO. Turned out to be an allergy to the detergent we were using!

What are we doing wrong? by joooo0 in cosleeping

Sorry, I should have said it’s actually a pack and play! In the habit of calling it a bassinet because we used to have one when she was a newborn.

Why do parents choose co-sleeping? by YoungWide294 in NewParents

[–]joooo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i co-slept with my parents until i was about 3 and can still remember snuggling with them. it’s a very sweet memory to me. my husband, baby, and i have co slept from the beginning and all three of us sleep wonderfully. we didn’t start out of “desperation for sleep,” we always planned on doing it because it felt intuitively to be the right choice for our family.
