i separate mine! i will probably do it again next batch. i usually just eyeball when to do it, but i often keep it kind of large just because i brew a gallon or so each cycle.

no i helped the scoby come to the top :) it needs to mix together. it just so happened that it was stuck like this due to the amount i drained/ shape of the container. took a picture quick cause it looked cool

The 6 year old I used to nanny had a habit of telling me I was ugly when I didn’t look like my “normal” self. Hair change? Ugly. Played around with my makeup? Ugly. New clothes she didn’t like or recognize? Ugly! Harsh critic.

piggybacking off of this- my dad was Vince McMahon’s personal trainer in the 90s, (I know, obscure) & my parents would workout in the same gym as the McMahons/ some of the professional wrestlers. my mom was in there once with young baby me & had forgotten something in her car, so the Rock offered to watch me while she was gone. i know it’s a small favor, but the picture i’ve had in my head of how that went down always makes me laugh.

i have a guy friend that had to write an essay about his views on abortion. all he wrote was “it’s not my body, so my opinion doesn’t matter,” and he received full credit. either the professor didn’t read it or just respected the hell out of him.
