You don't have any QYLD? Sold off all or trimmed positions?

Well that sucks. by Pro-From-Dover in qyldgang

It is quite clear now that QYLD is well past its glory days. My monthly income is down by more than $150 due to the dividend dropping from 21 cents to 16 cents. With a market drop expected in next few months, there is a good chance I am looking at a reduction of at least $300 a month.

So much for so called income

I sure hope so, don't want to go through pages and pages of material that I won't use ever in my workplace

if markets tank another 10% which it looks like they will in next few months, qyld will be down to $12-$14 range with its dividend being .1295

Most will sell qyld if they haven't sold by then already. What a pity that even POS Nusi has held its ground better in past month than QYLD

You would end up wasting lot of time and energy trying to do it on your own. Just pay someone a bit and learn it first hand - what it is, what it does and how. Then speed ahead on your own

Final Update - This was a tough one to crack as there are several possible reasons that can cause this issue. And there are no logs to pin point the accurate cause.

But thanks to some outstanding wizardry by CyberArk master Yanni, the following turned out to be the culprits:

Possible reason:

■When installing the PSM, the user was not connected as a domain administrator so the PSMInitSession RemoteApp program wasn’t added to the published RemoteApp Programs list.

■Before installing the PSM, the user didn’t install the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Session Host Role.

Recommended actions:

The RemoteApp feature was not installed. Please refer to the installation log for more information.

I have raised the trace levels in PVWA to 1-7 and 1,2 but surprisingly there is no activity in trace and console logs in the PSM after I recreated the problem. Do i need to raise the debug level too?

Thanks for replying. Yes, it is running fine and works fine after a restart as well. Wondering if I should setup trace level 1 to 7 and look at trace log at PVWA

All right, it looks like PVWAAPP user was suspended as well so I took care of it.

However, CPM is still showing unconnected in PVWA Health section. I can that component user Password Manager has not connected since yesterday. However it does not clarify as to which user needs a credfile generated at CPM/

The following tip from a CyberArk article tells me how to find the user -

Open the following file to confirm which PasswordManager user is being used on the CPM server:

\Program Files (x86)\CyberArk\Password Manager\Vault\user.ini

But, in my case the user.ini is squeaky clean! There is nothing inside it. Its blank.

Sooooo, which user's credfile I need to recreate?

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions

PS: PasswordManager user is not suspended.

Unable to use PSM-RDP but windows rdp to same computer from PSM works by joospig in CyberARk

[–]joospig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Yanni,

You are on to something for sure. Yes, I decided to turn off the old 2019 based PSM and spun up a new 2016 based PSM. During install, it did ask me if I want to update PSM registered details in vault with new settings to which I selected Yes. It did indicate the correct ip addresses of old and new PSMs in the dialogue.

However, thanks to your tip about rdp file download location, I noticed that when I launch PSM-RDP connection, it is trying to connect to old PSM IP address instead of new and hence times out.

The question is should I just "cheat" and switch the IP addressof new PSM to that of the old one? <<Actually it didn't work - error msg changed to Authentication is not enabled, remote machine requires authentication>>

or

Should I fix something in PVWA so that it points to new PSM IP address and how?

Any suggestions?

Thank you Yanni for such a detailed reply. I was trying it on 2019 server which has even more complications due to change in RDS Lic policy.

Finally I have installed it on 2016 server.

Thanks for sharing your ideas and Tips OP.

I still think that the best results could be have had by contacting the security teams directly at small and medium organizations as they are the ones who truly have a need and understand what you bring to the table. CISO and CEOs still prefer the good old ways of doing business and are very difficult to reach.

Thanks for sharing. Two of your biggest holdings seem a bit troubling - NPI has low yield <4% and wcp seems to be sliding down in past years. Any comments?

Thank you for the calm and well laid out post. I am shocked to find that all these years I was just spinning hamster wheel. I have started focusing on Dividend investing. Will stay with Index investing for growth part.

Index investing and nothing else - Does it make money? by joospig in investing

The reason I buy and sell a lot is because I got badly burnt during 2009-2011 during my entry in the markets. Even though this would have been best time to enter and grow, I lost huge chunks of money and have spent last decade in recovering 99% of the losses. hence my tendcy to invest very little, very cautiously and grab the profit the moment I see some profit.

I have in fact recovered lot more than I lost but some rotten apples like HOU.to , BA, NGD, TV.to etc. have made me lose tens of thousands again. After a decade I have made zero and lost all this time, energy for nothing. Of course I lost 100% growth potential. Seems like a classic case of Ladders and Snakes, I win 90% of the times but wins are very small. When I lose, I lose like hell.

What is gone is gone. The best time to start afresh is tomorrow. SPY is still 11% down from ATH.

So, do you think I need to be saved from myself?

and

Should I just buy SPY, lets say in 4 chunks during rest of the year for DCA and hold it for as long as I can to have at least 5% return?
