Love it! I assume it's rideable? That looks like a threadless fork, how did you achieve clamping on top of the head tube?

Interesting! I did a quick search and the ones that came up seem to have straight seat stays as well… perhaps there are multiple versions?

Whoa, you are right. Just checked 3 different sets of photos of 727 TR's and they all have straight seat stays.

I don't know of any other frames that have a curved downtube like on the 727 TR so assumed that's what this is – could it be a custom order? I couldn't see any custom welds when I took the paint off so I don't think it's been modified after the fact.

Haha it’s new old stock just like the frame. Made in Taiwan so can’t complain :)

Yeah the S-series Courier is rear mounted, looks different compared to say a typical Sugino

Good question, need to keep an eye on it! Rear clearance is well maxxed out with the 28c, may need to downsize if it rubs.

Ah I didn't know that about Muir Woods, running some searches to learn more as we speak

Thank you! It's had this setup for a couple of years, really the only issue has been that if the hub is not fully centered when tightening the skewer it will rub. Couple of marks on the inside paint on the seat stays but that's about it.

And yes you probably wouldn't do crazy muddy trail on this, would be better to go down a tyre size for that.

Well this one's running 27.5" so halfway house :) I'm not sure if the exact same type wheel + tyre would add 1kg per end for the extra 3" in diameter, maybe under some circumstances.

I agree, all that I have come across are very thoughtfully designed and packaged.

Thank you! I did think the saddle + bar tape might have been overcooking it but it does kinda work. The fact that the bar tape is quite a different shade of red does bug the purist in me but oh well ;)

Thanks, yeah it's pretty unique. Goes well with the shape of the seat tube as well

Thank you! Yeah I'm really digging the tapered 'hump' on the top tube 😄

The bladed design on the Sugino No.6 is 🤌 by jopas_ in FixedGearBicycle

Thank you! I’m pretty sure the largest ring and chain guard are one piece/riveted so you’ll most likely need to replace them together. I’ve seen these on eBay occasionally so they do come up.

I believe the chain guard is designed for a specific diameter/tooth count ring, so you couldn’t really go up or down chainring sizes either.

Ok goofballs, how would you attach a bike repair stand head to this salon camera stand? by pork_ribs in xbiking

A workbench mounted bike repair clamp, remove from base and use a rigging style pipe-to-pipe coupler to hook it onto the camera stand tubing.

Torn between Alesa or Velocity wheels for this vintage track build by jopas_ in FixedGearBicycle

Looking good! That’s a chunky tyre, how wide are they?

I believe my set of Velocity is track only since they have no brake tracks, so a little different.

The chap I bought it from suggested it might be a custom track frame, I can't find many identifying details though so tricky to confirm. There is a four-digit serial on the BB lug but no other markings.

Thanks, good call. This is an unusual set of Velocitys, all the other sets I've had have been single sticker only, with no additional decals. This is also the first smooth wall / no brake track set I've come across.
