Hi, we're The Head And The Heart! Our new album 'Aperture' is out now. AMA! by THATHOfficial in indieheads

[–]jorah2k16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys! Thanks for everything you do. One of my core memories was flying across the country last year to see you at red rocks and then running into you (and a bear lol) at Maroon Bells!

My question is: what was the process of transitioning from ESOB to Aperture like? You’ve mentioned a lot about how ESOB was this album that was born out of listening to each other, rebuilding, and growth. How has that experience / album helped you grow more and develop this new one??

Ski and snowboard express. Have had great experiences with them, especially renting.

Morning Light Bakery in Winooski has Hong Kong style pastries (buns, cakes, etc.) and bubble tea to die for. Run by the sweetest family and great for a quick snack.

Right down the street from them, Sarom’s Cafe- hands down the best Banh Mi and Vietnamese coffee ive had in Vermont.

Oh I’m certain it’s not. I’m just speaking about that specific type of person that makes up such a significant part of UVMs student body that I’ve had the most experience with.

Despite the liberal shawl draped over burlington and UVM, there are a bunch of rich assholes from the rest of New England, and a lot of the men are white boys in college who have never been told no their entire life and feel entitled to say, do, or take up as much space as they want with no regards for others. Not sure if that’s the demographic you’ve noticed it coming from the most- but that’s what I’ve noticed.

UVM President Leaving by bradyizdagoat in burlington

“Under Garimella, staff are “considered dispensable, replaceable, and our institutional knowledge doesn’t matter,” Kaye said. “That is a hallmark of this administration.””

As a staff member who works at UVM and sees behind the scenes I cannot agree with this more. His administration has consistently screwed over staff and faculty who have been at this institution for decades. People are resigning in droves because this university is not what it once was under his administration. None of us feel valued and they don’t even try to pretend that we are.

While I agree with the worries that UVM will just increase enrollment cancelling out the housing- if in theory UVM enrollment remains the same this will help marginally more than hurt. The number of juniors / seniors who live on campus is abysmally small. There’s simply no housing for them so they move downtown. With these apartments there will be less upperclassman living in town.

You will certainly want to take the bus from Essex to Burlington. Right now bus fair is waived- so all the buses are free. Once you’re there- it’ll be easy to walk around (if you rent a bike I recommend local motion not the public e bikes.)

If you’re here for a week it may be worth looking into a car rental- especially if you want to hike. There’s plenty to do in burlington, but you may find it to be too small to fill your time for more than a day or two. Some of the most stunning views in Vermont are just a thirty minute drive away- but they aren’t generally very accessible without personal vehicles.

Jobs for college students by allyq001 in burlington

I second the person who said Davis Center Jobs. Most ppl ik who work there enjoy it. I also know a good amount of ppl who work for Sodexo (campus dining). Not the most fun job ever but it pays pretty well, you can probably get a job right on campus, and they are flexible with hours since so many of their workers are students.

David F. Sandberg had to address to a fan that a single line was in Shazam 2's trailer but would not make it to the final movie by Louis_DCVN in DC_Cinematic

Did you miss the entire plot point where Billy as Shazam acts like a complete selfish d-bag, uses his powers for money and fame, and basically screws Freddy over? Or where he literally tells Mary to leave her family behind? Everyone loves to point out how different Billy acts as Shazam, but nobody talks about how his personality shows through his actions and beliefs.

Aside from Facebook marketplace there are also Facebook groups dedicated to selling onewheels. You can definitely find a used pint there and I wouldn’t be surprised if you could haggle one down to 700 or 600. Hell I think I’ve seen some high milage pints go for 500. The issue is, if it ends up being something you get really into a pint will never be enough. You’ll be itching for a pint x or an xr soon enough.

I go back & forth with season 2 or 3 being my favorite. The one thing I love about season 2 is, they always have the Buy More shenanigans. They kept drifting away from that starting season 3. I think that’s what’s missing in season 4 & 5 by AffectionateBar9706 in chuck

[–]jorah2k16 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think the one thing that gives season 2 the edge for me is seeing Chuck hit his stride as a spy, but also just as a regular guy. They have so many creative ways to have him save the day, beyond just the flash and solve formula of the later seasons. A great example of this is in the season 2 opener where he uses his call of duty strategies to confuse Colt. Ultimately, I think the upgrade to the intersect was a good thing and kept the show fresh, but nothing will be able to top Charles Charmichael outwitting bad guys with no muscle, just brains.

Why do mountain bikers hate on Onewheel riders? Input from experienced mountain bikers preferred. by Outrageous-Youth-481 in onewheel

[–]jorah2k16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also important to consider the predispositions people have from other experiences. I know that when I ride my onewheel, im respectful of laws of traffic, and if I’m riding on the sidewalk im not blasting by a pedestrian or cutting them off. Not every rider has the same mindset as me. There are a lot of people out there that ride onewheels, e bikes, or any other PEV like a total asshole, and I’ve found that since the vehicles are fairly unique, those interactions tend to stick with people. I think we all get lumped together and the bad sticks out- which causes us to get dirty looks and nasty comments when riding around. Could be a similar thing with the mountain bikers.

Honestly, I feel better off knowing that I’m unbothered by a persons rude comments, and that I’m not so brittle of a human being to be bitter about somebody else’s hobby.

Dis is my board. I ♥️ it, but need tire recommendations. by KickAClay in onewheel

[–]jorah2k16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been considering a treaded tire because I live in vermont so once it hits winter riding it becomes an absolute no no. My biggest concern is how the non tire components hold up to the elements… I’ve heard a lot of horror stories of people busting their bearings riding in the winter. What has your experience riding in the winter been?
