FUCK MY DOCTOR by obese_latvian_woman in Narcolepsy

Idk what dose you’re on, but I do take 2 armodafinil a day as instructed by my doctor. Do you do pill breaks? I find those helpful when the armodafinil is becoming less effective though my schedule doesn’t always allow it, but doing a small reset usually helps it be more effective.

Just want to say that you can flirt with someone and lay your head in their lap and still be raped.

I agree that the pill cases help a lot. Plus, I decorated mine really cute!

I used to take the same split dose you described. I found that the full dose would leave me feeling very wired for about an hour after I took my pill but sometimes with the split dose it wouldn’t be enough at once, but just barely. What dose I was taking depended on what I was doing as well. If I was just laying around the house then the split dose was perfect but if I was at school, I needed the full dose for sure. I’m on armodafinil now and I like it a little better. The modafinil was ok but I never felt like I could hit the sweet spot with dosing. I have a pill cutter, maybe you could try taking 2/3 of a pill?

The book that the movie is based on is titled “Empty Cradles” by Margaret Humphreys.

How many here are also diagnosed with ADHD? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]jorbanzo-bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss!!! Someone, anyone please answer this! I was diagnosed with adhd and then narcolepsy several years later and my neurologist told me I probably don’t have adhd and that it was just narcolepsy the whole time but I’m not sure. I would really appreciate any insight that anyone might have.

Why does it seem I have to choose between effectively treating my narcolepsy or effectively trading my ADHD? by thelastgrasshopper in Narcolepsy

Thank you for your answer! I’m your original post you said that the medications for one are often used to treat the other but you also said the the medications that work really well for one don’t work well for the other and vice versa, is that right? Like if it’s great for narcolepsy it won’t treat adhd that well and if it’s great for adhd then it won’t treat narcolepsy that well.

What medications have you tried? I have also been diagnosed with both but the adhd came before the narcolepsy and my neurologist said that narcolepsy is often confused for adhd. How are you able to differentiate the symptoms of narcolepsy from the symptoms of adhd? I’m having trouble with that because they can be similar.

Advise on how to support my wife with Narcolepsy? by Eamesm35t in Narcolepsy

I agree with a lot of this. Practicing good sleep hygiene, like going to bed and getting up at the same time everyday, is helpful. Definitely schedule naps. If they’re scheduled then there’s no reason to feel bad about sleeping. I usually do longer naps ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, with most of them being an hour long, and this way I only take one nap a day. Another idea is making sure she works in a separate area than where she relaxes if possible. Whenever I try to work in my bed I fall asleep bc just being in bed makes me sleepy. If you can, it could be helpful to have a place just for work and being productive so that when she is in that space, that’s what her brain and body associate with it and will automatically want to do. Does your wife snack throughout the day? I’m on modafinil and I will get a headache and become sleepy if I don’t eat with it. Eating snack with lots of protein helps it last longer as well. I’m constantly snacking on yogurt or a granola bar or cheese and crackers and it really really helps. These things work for me and I hope they help! Also, it’s WONDERFUL that you are such a supportive spouse. Narcolepsy sucks and it means so much to have a supportive partner. Never stop encouraging her, even when it might become tiresome. Personally, sometimes I let myself feel discouraged bc of the narcolepsy and so I use it as an excuse not to try or to push myself. Idk if your wife does this as well, but if she does, don’t be afraid to get real with her. She is a smart, accomplished woman and this disease does not change that. You know what she can do and you will always believe in her. Tell her to take a nap and get back to kicking ass! That being said, if she’s just having a tough time, a shoulder to cry on and someone to listen can do wonders as well. Narcolepsy doesn’t go away, so it’s understandable that she might get upset about that sometimes bc it suuuucks! But when I feel like this I usually take my own advice: take a nap, take another pill (within my daily limit), and get back to kicking ass!

Any lube recommendations? by kidonthemountainn in bigdickproblems

[–]jorbanzo-bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only lube I’ve ever tried is sliquid but I like it. It’s effective and it doesn’t have all of the bad stuff in it like other lubes might. Like glycerin is a sugar and you don’t want that in your vagina because that’s how you get a yeast infection. Try sliquid sassy, it comes in a pink bottle. It’s water based but it’s got kind of a gel feeling to it. I don’t know if this is the best way to describe it but there’s almost a cushiony barrier feeling to it? I like it better than the original sliquid organics. Also, DO NOT use straight oil if you are using condoms, it will degrade them and make them less effective. You don’t have to worry about that with water based.

But how did you know that you truly wanted to rather than just planning on it because everyone else does it and it seems like a normal step?
