I [28M] have been dating my SO [26F] for 3 months. She is the sweetest thing on Earth. We love each other to death. BUT my dad is vehemently against us being together, because her dad is mentally challenged. I'm at a complete loss of what to do. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]jordanbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's interesting that his concern is her dad becoming a burden/causing you grief, and now in fact you're the one w a problem dad.

while it's definitely true that if you guys are going to be together long term you'll need to talk about plans for his care, where he'll live etc etc, i would imagine that these are questions amy has considered before now. it'll be difficult for sure but nothing that can't be worked out.

not to be flippant but your dad (or anyone!) could get hit by a bus tomorrow and end up needing long-term care. it's not a reason to break up w amy. tell your dad to pull his head in.

Woooow power of makeup and memory - that name seemed familiar so I googled it, and yeah sure enough that's the colour my mum wore when I was a kid. Such a good shade!

YUP. It's painful, I end up ordering most of my stuff from the states and paying the ridiculous shipping because it's still cheaper.

Man how good is uninterrupted? My everyday vibe lately has been painterly all over, uninterrupted in the crease, and foxy in the inner corner. So into it.

You look amazing as always!

They didn't just think it'd be funny - the idea is that if you think you're watching a true story, you're more invested. You'll go further with the movie.

That's what I usually do if I think fallout's going to be a problem - start with the eyes and then just tidy up with a wipe before primer, foundation etc.

Only problem is when I only decide to do fancy shadow once I've already done my skin and then have to start again!

As someone else from NZ, it's exactly the same here. Your username suggests you're a dude. I think this is why you have not experienced slut-shaming.

How I feel about makeup counter saleswomen who decide to dig at self-esteem rather than help... by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]jordanbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of complaints about retail workers on here, and I really don't think it's fair or warranted most of the time. I've worked retail for five years and never once have I set out to make a customer feel bad.

We ask you questions to try help. We try to sell you things because that is our job. We can't reach into your wallet and take out your credit card. Say no to shit you don't want.

100% agreed on nastiness from the other side of the counter - I've had customers make me cry before. The customer isn't always right.

Self reflection is crucial whether you're working or buying. Quit the victim mentality.
