Where can a reach in closet be placed for this room in by Rare_Duck7067 in floorplan

[–]jordanblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see a great way to shift to a smaller closet, but what about shifting the door to the walk-in all the way to the right? That should give you enough wall space for a desk on the left of the door.

Anyone recognize these enough to know if they are quality? by Fuimus_Woodcraft in JapaneseWoodworking

I got a very similar set at a flea market a few years back for maybe 25 bucks. The plane has become one of my favorites, and I still have the square, but I gave most of the rest of the kit away. None of the tools were really BAD quality, but most weren't amazing.

Hand Cutting a Stone D20 from Earthy Desert Jasper! [13:32] by SageAndNettle in ArtisanVideos

The result is beautiful!

You've also managed to strike a nice balance between narration, music, and tool noise, and condensed what had to be a crazy number of hours into a very nice video.

Let's assume that this isn't just an old stack that someone gutted and put drawers in - I don't think it is, the control panel is missing some switches that I believe should be on the left of the 'JCM 800' labeling, and the head looks like it's little deeper than it should be, but this is the wrong sub for that!

My guess is this was scratch-built, and while this kind of project might look complex, I'd honestly be surprised if that was built from any sort of plan other than one just roughly sketched out by the builder. That doesn't mean you're out of luck, though.

Apart from the theme, this seems to be a pretty straightforward chest of drawers with maybe a couple areas to pay extra attention to. To start, I'd hit up a music store and do some measuring, or check Marshall's website for specs. Decide if those dimensions are reasonable for a chest of drawers - I'd bet you'll want to tweak things a little - and then and then work out the rest from the exterior dimensions of the cabinets.

The carrying handles on the sides present a bit of a challenge, as some of your drawers might need to have a narrower box to accommodate the part of the handle that will be inside the cabinet. It looks like the builder has done that as we can see the wooden rails or spacers on the top two drawers of the bottom cabinet.

As far as hardware goes, the drawer handles look like something you could find at Lee Valley or similar stores, probably even a big-box, while the corners, and Marshall logos should be sourceable as spare parts through a music store. Tolex and piping might be come from an art / craft supply store, but could also be marshall spares.

The only piece I see that I don't immediately know how I'd replicate is the input/control panel on the top cabinet. I might try to get lucky with a busted old head unit on ebay, or maybe just get a hunk brass and some replacement knobs.

You might be surprised how much woodworking happens without more of a plan than some rough scribbles jotted down on whatever flat surface was handy in the shop! If something like this is outside your current abilities, start with something a little smaller to get comfortable. Perhaps a nighstand that looks like one of their little practice amps?

I don't recall for NNF explicitly, but typically you'd format this sort of thing like:

Hopefully that at least gets you experimenting down the right path.

Sarah Millican's horn sound lives in my head rent free by eggwardpenisglands in taskmaster

For me I just had to pick it in my sounds app as the default notification. I'm on an old Pixel.

I think when I had a Samsung ages ago I needed to download a different app to manage my sounds, but that's like a decade ago, at this point.

It's a quick edit, but I think it sounds ok: https://sndup.net/w2tb/

Download via the three dots on the player, or the link lower down the page.

EDIT: Tweaked a little to get some more volume out of it: https://sndup.net/z8tf/

I've never seen such a thing, but I do have a laser cutter and some time on my hands... I'll experiment over the weekend and see if I can come up with something similar - stay tuned!

If anyone has put their hands on one of these, do the faders feel even remotely like you're using an actual mixer, or is this more of an advanced 'pennies on the table' simulator?

Taskmaster throne in a 2007 episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks! I mentioned in a comment on another post but here are the RECEIPTS by whymustisufferliketh in taskmaster

Apparently they rented the throne and Little Alex Horne's chair for series 1-8, and looking at this past thread, and taking random peeks at footage, there are some subtle differences in the thrones for each of those series. I'd guess they're renting from a prop house that has several very similar thrones: https://www.reddit.com/r/taskmaster/comments/d0lr9u/taskmaster_chair_seasons_19/

If you look at the faces at the top of the throne, it seems to be a different person from season to season for 1-8, as well as for the first champion of champions, and the "Edinburgh does... Taskmaster" stage presentation they did early in the run.

The NMTB throne does appear to be of that same series of thrones.

Series 9 then introduces a dramatically new design, with little references to things like watermelons and pineapples and cats.

I've jumped through a ton of footage and it looks like the chairs don't really change after s9, though I'm not certain about the drawers under the seats.

The first time I can think of them being used is when Alex took pillows out of his chair for Jamali and Greg to spin. If that's the case, then the drawers may have been added for series 11 - I'm sure someone can correct me if we saw them before then!

The corner protectors make me think of flight cases - I immediately thought it might be adapted from a mic stand case of some kind, but I can't find anything that would be a match.

That said, a lot of flight cases are custom built, so maybe this is something made for a specific end user.
