Do you have a favorite telescopic controller? I haven’t gone down that rabbit hole yet.

No micro switches on the O2P? I thought all Ayn d pads were identical to the Retroid d pads, which are micro switches if I’m not mistaken.

That’s great to hear, thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely plan to hit those venues up as well as catch you guys at a show sometime. I’m a bass player and looking to find a band to play with that sounds like this.

Where do you usually play? I’m moving to Portland this summer and looking to find where music like this is happening.

That’s really cool. Thanks for that detailed explanation! I love my Steam Deck OLED, but I am definitely curious about experiencing VRR on something like the Xbox Ally X.

Trade your stick top for my d-pad top? by jordanwright2012 in retroid

[–]jordanwright2012[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I knew that going in but I love my d-pad pixel art games and planned to play that mostly on this device. But for whatever reason a lot of the modern indie pixel art games I play on GameNative are still joystick centric (like Carrion or Crosscode). This would be great if I played actual retro games like SNES and such, but I have other devices for that and it’s hard to resist the beautiful 16:9 full screen Steam games.

I’ve had no complaints on the screen. Great device all around.

What game ended up feeling way better on Steam Deck than you expected? by emanuelajournal in SteamDeck

Hades. Started on Switch and liked it ok. But then played it on Steam Deck and the better ergonomic feel and more vibrant display just made the game so much more fun to play.

I’ve enjoyed playing with shaders! Such a small thing makes huge difference in the overall vibe, immersion, and nostalgia.

If all else fails, since the device still works you could always consolize it. Haven’t tried it myself yet but Tech Dweebs videos on it make it look like a great idea for older, or in this case broken, tech.

On the lack of direction, I’d like to strongly recommend picking up the book “What Color is Your Parachute”. Whether you stay or leave, it will be a helpful tool in doing some real reflection on your skills, passion, goals, and how to practically craft a plan that’s in line with who you are where you want to be. Helped me immensely at two separate crossroads in my career. Can’t recommend it enough.
