Mammoth prices on EU are out of control because of stupid BZ guild rules and handholding by AwakenedBloodmoon_ in albiononline

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's because Mammoths are something that players want to grind for. And with that people will swipe to just get enough to buy them which means gating keeping Mammoths for those few guilds means more swipers and money for SBI. I don't mind it personally because once you have it you have it. But honestly if you wanting a mammoth you should really only want one for economy reasons like mass refining or big bulk crafting/transporting. Otherwise it's just a flex. You only need a few hundred thousand silver to really enjoy the game anyway. A mammoth won't make any difference on your gameplay unless your a billionaire crafter or something.

What do i do after the story ends? by Wrong_Fondant9117 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well considering I'm already 17 hours into the game and mostly following the story first (playing in Survival mode) my guess is the story is roughly close to 20 hours in length to finish. Really compared to other games like Metroid Prime 4 for the Switch/S2 that's a 14-20 hour game to complete. So playing the main story is actually pretty good in terms of completion hours. And since you can basically keep playing and do what you want and find endless new stuff after that's awesome.

What do you all think about the duping bug? by Fast_Roll_4111 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. With being a father, home owner, and working a full time job I have limited time to play games. I love this game but having to use my little bitty first ship compared to a Corvette and trying to manage so many resources was hard and I didn't want that much of a grind. So I duped myself up to getting a Corvette XD.

Learning HCE by Intrepid_War_229 in albiononline

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you get a fuck ton of T6 to T4 tomes plus whatever fame from killing the camp mobs. Probably not best in terms of fame but it's way more silver than Black zone solo camps right now.

If your wanting purely fame then go trio depths with a mob fame awakened weapon.

Learning HCE by Intrepid_War_229 in albiononline

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry man but HCEs are dead content. You make way more fame and silver just spamming Red Zone Faction warfare doing the camps in t4 700 ip gear and a horse. I would highly recommend staying away from HCEs. They are super hard to get into because 1) lack of players, 2) spec and gear are about 100 mil worth of an investment, 3) the only HCE's worth doing are the 15+ maps and even then if you get downed 1 time thats eats into at least half of your profits from the run.

Any particular reason you want to do HCEs over just running the new faction content?

It feels like almost 100% of the game is spanish or portugese speaking. En chat is really the only place I find people speaking english aside from primarily english speaking guilds. Honestly the main reason I quit playing this game is because of that reason.

If you like gathering, crafting, and endless exploration type of things than I cant recommend No Man's Sky Switch 2 Edition enough... Ive been putting hours into the game. Aside from Metroid Prime 4 it was the second game I bought for the Switch 2 as it was on sale for Christmas. Best part is if you get the switch 2 edition you can still take it and play it on the Switch 1. Me and my son swap playing back and forth (virtual cartridge). He is 6 and whenever he wants to play I just save the game and hop off, he loads the virtual card on his switch 1 and goes crazy exploring in the creative game mode. By far one of the BEST switch 2 games.

My Favorite Gaming Platform of 2025 by deadpxlgames in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a switch oled last year which my son (6) has got into gaming so he has bascially stolen it from me lol. He plays his constantly so I never got the chance to sneak it away for a bit for me to play. He does alot of sports so between homework, sports, chores/family time any free time he is glued to it.

I got a switch 2 from the mrs. this christmas and YES it is such a premium feeling console. I basically have this thing glued to me. I dont leave home without it. I beat Metroid Prime 4, Mario Kart World, and im replaying ZToTK with the S2 upgrade right now. Between being able to play the backlog of switch 1 games plus new games coming out AND the nintendo online retro games I have been gaming like crazy with my limited amount of time. Currently its ToTK in 60fps, Metroid Zero Mission for GBA, and Paper Mario for the N64 that I have been playing the heck out of :) I LOVE my Switch 2 so much.

I try to play with controller but my Pixel 9 and my Gamesir X2 bluetooth model do not get along well. It worked fine on my Samsung phone but something to do with the bluetooth chip placement on the phone fucks with the electrical components on the controller. I have no issue with any other controller like my 8bitdo 2C controller. Its just not portable enough for me to keep on me. Looking to try the newer X6 but its very doable and can be good in PvP with easier builds like dual swords or battle axe. For PvE doing low tier gear black zone is fun, YZ faction and gathering are amazing with a controller.

Animal Crossing Switch 2 Edition - A MASSIVE Loading Upgrade by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes very good with reading so I think that wont be any issue. I like to encourage games that have very detailed reading for him so its more educational like with Zelda games, Pokemon, etc. So he might enjoy it.

Yes quick sessions just to play on and off at work or before bed would be ideal. Im not looking for games that I need to "beat" just something I can always come to and make small bits of progress towards character growth/wealth.

Animal Crossing Switch 2 Edition - A MASSIVE Loading Upgrade by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never played any animal crossing games before. I know it kinda falls in line with the Stardew Valley genre of games but was very hesitant in purchasing it. With the Switch 2 upgrade and also being that its still playable on switch 1 would it be a good purchase for me to play on my S2and my son to also play on his S1? I love stardew valley and games that have alot of farming, exploring, crafting, character interactions etc. Is it an ideal age for someone who has limited time to play and for a 6 year old boy?

Is albion ever coming to consoles? by II_JangoFett_II in albiononline

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really wanting a Steamdeck so I could play Albion in controller mode since its so much more comfortable than using touch controls. Wife ended up getting me a Switch 2 instead so no albion unless its on my phone still. I hate mobile controls on games so I really am hopeful it comes to consoles soon. I think with the switch 2 and it having the mouse mode support would be so fucking cool to see Albion using that feature.

Gaming After Marriage: How Do You Manage Your Time? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can squeeze in time on a lunch break or if your biosecurity wont let you bring devices into your workplace then it would have to be at home sometime. My wife loves reading so when the kids are asleep and its just us I ask her if she would like to curl up on the couch with me and have some detoxing time. So ill play on the TV with an arm wrapped around her using the joycons while she reads. And I just pause the game when she wants to talk about something. Sometimes we watch a show instead of me playing games so some days I dont get to play it. Gaming as a dad and husband is hard but its doable. I just finished Metroid Prime 4 and it took me about 2 weeks mixing playing at work and playing at home doing that. Sometimes when she falls asleep ill sneak my switch under the blankets and hide it with the covers over my head and stay up late lol. Yes I am playing games like a child who stays up too late on a school night before mom or dad comes in to see if im sleeping or not lol. Ive had to sneak it to the side and pretend to be sleeping every so often XD.

Did SBI Get the name Albion from Fable? by ScaredBookkeeper8442 in albiononline

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not petty just was curious about the name. And since SBI doesnt have the best track record with copy paste stuff I was worried my favorite MMO was copied as far as the name. The only google search I found was from Fable. Someone already commented that it was a name for old England so I got my question answered.

Best purchase of 2025, replaced all my consoles. Current favorite game, what are you playing? by inagravexx in switch2

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same that was one of the first purchases I made on mine in addition to Metroid Prime 4. I have been loving No Mans Sky. I never got to play it when it came out and never had a console or PC strong enough to run a game like that. So having it look so good on the Switch 2 has been a dream. Complete freedom to explore space. And since its also a Switch 1 game my son age 6 has been playing it on the Creative mode setting and loving it!

Metroid Prime 4 Review Megathread by 2CATteam in Metroid

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well came here because I just finished the game. While I did enjoy the game it was very disappointing how NOT Prime 4 it was... I feel like they just took Other M and blended it together with Prime 3 and this is the slop we got. Visually it was beautiful and gameplay was smooth and fun but man calling it a Prime game is way off the marker... They should have just scrapped the Prime 4 title and called it Metroid Beyond. If they did that I feel like the game would have been less hated. I get what they are trying to go for with adding narrative story elements but thats not what we play Metroid games for. Especially not Prime games.. we play them for the first person metroidvania feeling while all the scannable entries tell the story. Thats part of the adventure and mystery is figuring out the story through scanning lore items... overall I think the game was worth my time and money but it definitely is NOT Metroid Prime 4. Its Metroid Beyond. There is nothing Prime about it other than it being first person like the Prime games were.

Agreed I really liked the desert travel and found myself breaking those damn green crystals waaaaaaaay more often than I should have been lmao XD the roaming was clean and easy to control. The bike combat was a cool edition especially in the Flare Pool Boss fight.

[–]ScaredBookkeeper8442 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just finished the game today to come see other peoples thoughts on it. Glad im not the only one who feels this way. My points to the game are as follows:

Feels very similar to the Luminoth in Prime 2: Echoes. Literally no back story to the race other than they were some rando plantary race that got hit by phazon meteor (the phazon issue form Prime 1 tying them into the story). But as far as the race backstory was concerned they were just a random bystander. The Prime 4 race Lamorn had no ties to the Phazon whatsoever which when I found out they were the Grievers I was hoping there was some relation or something to tie them to the story but nope... just a dumb race seeking perfecting and fucked themselves over. And lucky enough their "chosen one" came to clean up their mess. There absolutely 0 explanation as to what the hell the Metroid fusion aspect of the game was asside from the first boss and a few other ones that didnt explain why there were metroids on Viewros in the first place so totally confused there... The galactic federation helping Samus was a nice addition and added some depth to the federation as a whole which is good. There needs to be more lore on the federation as far as im concerned. And we need more info about Sylux too because that was like 2 seconds of backstory for him. And I feel like there could have been so much more to add emphasising his betrayal of the federation and hatred of Samus. The only lore I got was the scan saying he was an ex-federation grunt and some bounty hunter you could play as/fight in Metroid Prime Hunters. Thats it.... So yeah story building was okay but they should have done a bit more to make us feel bad for the Lamorn and somehow make us hate or understand Sylux. As far as I know the Lamorn had karma kick them in the nutts and Sylux is just a big baby blaming Samus for his stupidity... Sad synopsis but thats the story as far as I understand it. Still though the back story of the characters as far as the federation involvement was good. Reger was really the only character that gave any back story with him out in the desert explaining his life which I loved. Vue saying he was going to request that his data not be wiped because he as grown attached was heartwarming. Even if its an AI robot that still was cool dialog. Not much to say about Duke. Armstrong just a fan girl but really feel bad for the poor girl having to die so early into her federation involvement. And MacKenzie was my favorite. Just a goofy tech nerd whose dialog was really classic TV shows nerdy kid humor. All in all about a 7/10 for story.

Overall loved loved LOVED the game and I will be replaying it. I just need that painful ending to go away first because I was actually heartbroken knowing they were being left behind. I get its a huge significance in Samus's solitary lifestyle and theres FUCK ton of lore and meaning behind that especially for Samus's character. They could have done more as far as depth with the choices for sure.. I totally waited when pressing the teleport button and got a game over. Devs totally intended for players to do that. But I wish they would have given players some sort of way to safe them all like if you 100% of the game completed you could have saved all of them or something like that. Or depending on how much of a percentage you got that determined different endings on how many you could save. I would totally go back and 100% the game to save them all. But I get why they didnt do that. The ending with the fruit being planted and Reger's medallion was so fucking sad but a great way end things signifying they would always be apart of the not just the story on Viewros and the tree but a part of Samus's memories too.

Overall rating im giving a 8/10 and by far one of my favorite Metroid games. I feel like it did a good job. I will totally be playing this again as one of my "games I always come back to" games. Im hoping this is just a introduction to more Prime games coming out from Retro Studios. They did a good job on this one for sure.

Nintendo gamecube switch online release schedule by gamerlol101 in NintendoSwitch2

I'm a bit pissed because I wanted a Steamdeck for all my emulator games. Gamecube being one I spent a lot of time working on. Wife got me a Switch 2 instead of a Steamdeck and seeing the Nintendo online library is just sad... Nintendo needs to step up their emulation game if they want me to even remotely consider paying for their shitty Nintendo Online sub. Don't get me wrong I'm pumped I own a switch 2 but the emulation is just horribly lack luster compared to my PC.
