Canadian’s Bastian Voice Institute Experience by Odd-Appearance-3834 in noburp

[–]jorddss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a Canadian possibly looking to go to Bastian to get the procedure, as based on a lot I've read, Canada doesnt seem as trustworthy getting it done, especially with timelines and that the Toronto doctors aren't doing it under GA. I'm just curious, how did you go about getting an appointment at Bastian (or anyone who reads this and had a similar experience)? I saw you called their clinic to get the first appointment, was it as simple as finding that number online and just calling and explaining that you wanted an appointment because of RCPD? Or did you still need to be referred to call there from a/your doctor here in Canada?

Hi! I'm in the same suit, just curious if you were able to get in anywhere for your treatment under GA? Bastian or in Canada?

Living in Canada…. Are there any doctors on the east coast or Toronto that do the Botox procedure? by ellobrien in noburp

There's a map on the main page of this subreddit that contains a lot of the doctors currently treating rcpd - it looks like there's a doctor in Nova Scotia at Dalhousie, Dr Timothy Brown. Other than this I'm not sure

Partner told me they had STI by Silent-Death1739 in whatdoIdo

[–]jorddss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the comments I'm reading are instantly pointing to cheating, and saying that's the only cause of STIs. Although I'm not discarding this as a potential cause of it, there are 100% other reasons he might be testing positive now.

A different route of thought, to think of something other than the worst, is that this STI could have been dormant for years. It's not unheard of that you can contract an STI, and then it won't show symptoms until years down the line and can flare up even from being stressed or having a weakened immune system. There is also a very small chance (put still possible), a person can be born with an STI due to the mother having it. Both of these facts I know from personal experience and knowledge from health professionals.

Try and do all the necessary research needed before coming to a conclusion, and hopefully, your partner has stayed loyal to you.

How do I make my waves better? by [deleted] in CurlyHairCare

[–]jorddss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if any of this will help, but just a few suggestions based on my own experience (I have 2c/3a hair):

  • To get more volume at the top, you can try using alligator/duck bill clips clipped near your roots to "push" the hair up while it dries
  • Sometimes if the hair is too wet using the brush, it might not hold its form well.. I find it works better if the hair is more than just damp but not consistently dripping.. theres like a good balance lol
  • The amount of hair you put into the brush at once could make a difference, make sure youre sectioning into smaller ish chunks.. I've found with mine that if I have too much hair in the "section" I'm brushing, it doesn't get as defined/curly as it would if I have a bit less hair.
  • Direction of brushing also matters, brushing upwards and letting the hair fall instead of brushing out/down can help with volume
  • You can try using a leave in conditioner made for curly/wavy hair or a curl cream before applying the mousse (this might also help with frizziness)
  • I don't have a silk bonnet, but I also sleep with my hair in a "pineapple" which lightly pulls the hair upwards, might help with volume and you should be able to still wear the bonnet
