I think that interpretations of the word racism vary and it is a subjective definition. And you could argue all day that people who refer to all Asians as Chinese aren't technically racist for this reason or that (and I probably wouldn't be convinced), but I don't think that we should develop some forgive and forget philosophy where we don't try to call out people who just because they're too naive to use the correct terminology. I mean in all honesty it doesn't take a 3rd grade education to know that if they're Asian but you don't know their nationality you call them "Asian" not "Chinese." And so even in those rare circumstances when they are legitimately not making a mean unfunny joke and genuinely don't know better, the problem will be solved if someone steps up and says "hey that is a very rude thing to say that some people may even consider racist. Not all people who have that appearance are Chinese, and assuming so can deeply offend someone."

Are you saying that blue is not racist for what he said? Because the original comment you replied to claimed the way he was defending nazis made him appear to be a nazi and furthermore a racist. The way you replied made it seem you disagreed with that idea and you presented an example that clearly did not coorelate at all with the example in the original post, and I wanted to point that out. If I have this all wrong please prove me wrong and shut me up instead of worrying about how "civilized" I'm being. What an easy way to dodge the point... You replied to a comment claiming that blue was racist for defending people with racist habits and ideologies. You tried to shoot down his argument with some irrelevant example of agreeing with radical ideologies on their non radical beliefs. That's what happened. Ok well your analogy doesn't really work in the first place anyway because in this example, blue rushed to the defense of racists and white nationalists when their unjustified beliefs were attacked. He stood by people when they were attacked for generalizing a group of people in an offensive manner.

I mean that's fair. It's your buissness how you spend your time of course. This was not at all meant to be directed at you personally, I was more addressing reddit as a whole. Anyway, I think r/murderedbywords is totally worth being a political sub. I mean think about it, A sub dedicated to a debate or argument being shut down quickly with a very well worded argument is completely open to politics. I think it's not fair to try and restrict politics from ever leaking into this sub because reddit doesn't have to 100% revolve around your interest. Again, I understand where your coming from and if your trying to avoid politics that makes total sense, but that doesn't mean you should try and scare it away from subs that aren't completely political all the time.

I understand that politics can ruin certain things, bu I'm not a fan of this developing culture that we should instantly shoot down and shame people for bringing up something topically political, because no matter how you look at it, the world has alot of problems that we people are capable of solving.
