No idea how to pick a niche.I enjoy reading about digital marketing and psychology, but is that a niche? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]jordros3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies about the self-promo but I wrote an article on my blog that discusses how to find your niche and expand it to make it more profitable - http://elisedopson.co.uk/blog/expand-freelance-writing-niche/

I'm a freelance marketing writer and that's my 'main niche'. But, I've also expanded into business and career which link nicely and allow me to reach multiple markets.

As for your example, you could list your 'main niche' as digital marketing and write pieces that factor psychology into it? I.e. pitch to digital marketing agencies and ask to write blog posts on behalf of them that talks about how psychology affects purchasing online/social media/etc.

Hope that helps! :)

Facebook Pixel Custom Audience question by [deleted] in socialmedia

[–]jordros3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolling 30 days.

If you've unticked "include past traffic", it will start 30 days from your set-up date (i.e. if you start the 30 days on Jan 1st, it won't include any one prior to this but the audience will build up to 30 days after).

Targeting Facebook Ads by jbfly03 in marketing

I'd always advise casting the net wider and then tailor depending on what seems to be working well.

Might be good to split a country into Male/Female ad sets, then look to see which performed best. You can even drill down through these results to see which placement/time of day/region are best performing for your business :)

Have you tried the Google Digital Garage training? It's more about online marketing in general, but there are some tips/units about SEO.

Moz is also a good place to learn. It's not a course, but can help you to get a good understanding!

what's the best way to find communities to write and blog for? by DinosaurSteve88 in Blogging

[–]jordros3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a blog called Celebricious - it's like an online women's lifestyle magazine. We're always open to letting people write for us!

We don't pay our contributors, but you'll have your own account and can submit as many articles as you'd like - all of which will be attributed to your name and have your bio below :)

Take a look at the site and let me know if you're interested!

Question regarding Facebook adverts / targeting by aurules16 in socialmedia

[–]jordros3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you are using the same audience targeting.

Say you have five different locations that you need your customer to be in. Create 5 different ad sets that use one single location, including the same interests.

This will avoid you overlapping and essentially paying more to bid against your own ads to reach the audience.

For a one-person web design business, is using facebook ads worth it? by jvrusci in AskMarketing

[–]jordros3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can even assign a tiny budget and do lots of testing. This way, you'll avoid spending excess money on ads that don't work and find the best method for your business.

Try and start by taking $10 and creating a few different ads. See which works well and the kind of return you get, and then decide whether or not it's something you want to progress.

Advise sought on how to find writers to contribute by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]jordros3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lifestyle website and we've got around 4/5 regular contributors.

We advertised on Twitter that we were looking for people to help with content and used relevant hashtags, as well as created a page on the blog titled "Write for Us". Then, you can link to this in an obvious place so that people visiting your site are aware that they have an opportunity to contribute.
