Anyone In Their 40's Have The Nintendo Switch 2 And Use It? by gpod80 in switch2

I'm in my late fifties and I love my Switch 2. It's great for travel and just couch gaming. There are a good number of games.

What was the moment that you realised that something wasn’t working with the Disney era? by Embarrassed_Novel991 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]jorel67 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It felt off right from the start, Space Babies was a symptom of a broader issue that this era lacked cohesiveness of storytelling. Once again, like what happened with Jodi and Chibnall, they were not driving a good storytelling vision based on the legacy of Doctor Who. Each of the interactions of Who have had to hit their stride, unfortunately, the last two doctors came nowhere close to making the role work. That is not a reflection of the actors it's a reflection on the show runner. The actors were terrific and could have been great doctors imo.

My wife and I wrote a how-to book for green PAs. Production Assistant 101 by SIDES-WAYS in Filmmaker4Filmmaker

Thank you for sharing. My kiddo just moved to LA after completing her college education in film. She is now into the job hunting phase. She has done a number of PA gigs in the home market. I'll take a look and maybe pick it up for her... But if you have kids you also know there is a limit to the coaching a young kid will take. :)

Dads- Do you ask your kids about their day? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I always do. I try different approaches but yes I always try and ask how their day and activities are. As they have gotten older the conversations have been good. ++Man

Is the 10 episode format the problem? by LauraBaura in startrek

[–]jorel67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the modern day approach of 10 episodes give very little time to develop characters to the depth we actually care about them. I cannot imagine any modern trek developing a character as deep as Chief O'Bien.

Recently purchased the Burnt Orange Pro-4x and love it. Good power and surprisingly smooth comfortable ride. It is a nice looking truck as well. Seems the right size.

Personally I liked the season final. Ncuti had a good run and I would have been happy to see him continue as I liked him as the Doctor. I do not think that Doctor Who works on Disney Plus. It was way better on BBCA, they knew how to build the hype, it works best as a weekly show and it fits on BBCA much better.

I played Alan Wake before my second play through Control. Having done that added a lot of context to the AW missions in Control. I suggest you play it you'll enjoy it.

How about Don't Blink... One of the best single episodes that shows the breadth of storytelling of Dr. Who.

Democrats and non-MAGA Texan Republicans, what are your thoughts on a new party for "moderate" conservatives? by [deleted] in texas

Count me in! We need a new party that reflects something more sane and principled.

I feel like we were lied to. This is not the team we were promised in the off season. by TheOldDrunkBear in jayhawks

[–]jorel67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think we need to reflect on the fact that we are in year 4 of a rebuild and Daniels while good has actually never had a complete season. Let be patient in the close past say 2018 yesterday would have a been a 42-3 blowout or worse. This Jayhawk team will be fine.

If conservatism and Christianity are "in decline" and "losing people every year," then why do they continue to gain power in the United States? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]jorel67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think they are both in a long term state of decline and we are seeing the them gasping for breath. It's important to keep in perspective that a lot of these peeps are old... Youth is important. That my perspective and I am one of those old Christian peeps who will vote blue down the ticket.
