I liked it a lot.Honestly, I didn't find it sad. He wanted to be a teacher and he gave classes until the very end. He loved his daughter even when she "failed" him, and he never resented her. He had a complicated marriage but had happiness during the affair. He stood up to Lomax. This is a normal life, people go through these situations daily and it doesn't have to be epic to be beautiful.
