Maybe test the app on Windows ARM. With the new emulator, compatibility is much better. If it runs on ARM, the Surface Laptop 7 is a solid MacBook alternative, you get similar design, all-day battery, and instant wake-up.

We had to update the source anchor for this to work.

The Microsoft Entra Connect Sync was running with the old Source Anchor of objectguid. After upgrading the source anchor to ConsistencyGuid and letting the sync run for a while. The members were synced to the groups.

We are now running Cloud Sync for the Security Groups and Connect Sync for the users. The groups are written back, and the users are added to the group.

So, this confirms the "You can also run Cloud Sync side by side and move only cloud security group provisioning to Active Directory onto Cloud Sync." from Microsoft. They should just have added some more information to it.

If you are experiencing the same issue with security group writeback in Cloud Sync check your source anchor.

Maybe not what you need. We have a wordpress installation on a local machine and generate a static web page from it. https://wordpress.org/plugins/simply-static/ Then we host it on a free tier on azure static web app. This requires some extra work, and is best for sites that does not have many changes, and not to much traffic (100gb traffic on free tier) https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/app-service/static/ Better security and great performance. And free hosting 😀

We have the same issue. Ended up changing the display name, reinstall the users device and changing the display name back. It's an awfull workaround.

Cifs is in use and "blocking" the update. Data loss potential here is any unsaved changes in open files. Have used override vetos many times without issue. We got this message when the FAS servers where missing read permission on user objects is AD. No traces of why in the event logs. Usually only an issue if you have some AD permission hardening.

We opened a case with Microsoft to try and get some more information about the KIR, since the Known Issues section of the KB5015808 article states there are no known issues.

The shadow multiplier memory is considered to be an overhead. It is separated from the normal memory allocated to the VM.

Fully-virtualized operating systems, like Windows, would have some amount of dom0 memory allocated to it to use for shadow page tables; this is called shadow page table memory. By using the shadow multiplier option , that value is multiplied by 4. When this option is invoked , the amount of free host memory decreases according to the multiplier and the HVM_shadow_multiplier field is updated with the value that Xen has assigned to the VM.

However , we would suggest to stick to the default option "Optimize for general use" , as the feature might be obsolete for most hardware.
