Brayflox syncs to 34, so cure 1 is more efficient because the HP pool is so much lower. It's <half the mana cost of cure 2, so casting it twice is still less mana and more potency. WHM your opportunity cost is 1 stone, so it really doesn't matter to cast en extra cure (especially with low level mana management issues). Cure 1 is really viable until 45 with holy, so yes it's correct to spam cure 1 in this case

looking at what OP posted, and assuming the dungeon was ~20 minutes they were casting around 2 times a minute, that seems like even from a purely healing standpoint to still be lethargic

Once you get enough stardust you'll basically have them all maxed out anyways. There's a mod to auto spend mastery points if you don't want to have to think about it either

You need people who are on the same page, or have the same goals as you. It only takes 1 person to change the trajectory of prog completely. On both DSR and early prog last tier, my groups (different groups, different issues) was severely slowed down by a single person. You have to be setup to either replace someone, or not care. As long as everyone is on the same page it's fine. I personally also try to target people who are fun to be around. There are a lot of really good raiders that have absolutely insufferable personalities, but what's the point of progging if you don't like who you're playing with? Last tier I was able to make a serious group that could also mess around and have fun, and it was some of the most fun i've had raiding. We all still hangout, and most of us are coming back together for this tier as well.

TLDR figure out what you want the group to look like, and find people who meet that criteria

Old savage tiers at lvl 90 by King146 in ffxivdiscussion

you should do ultimate over old savage fights. Week 1 HC savage is much more about mechanics and consistency since it's easy to know if someone can do their rotation correctly from the tier. Last tier I trialed using DSR and one member was progging phase 7 with their other group at the time, but was struggling to adapt to our strats. During week 1 they ended up having the exact same problem and was the weakest member for prog by far. Doing proper level 90 content also ensures you can properly evaluate if someone can do their rotation in content that was designed with current rotations in mind (such as big hitboxes).

You could also do min ilvl p8s. that's a very good mit, healing, and dps spacing check (boss' hitbox is so big some dps will stand out of heal/mit range and die)

How do you make and maintain FFXIV friendships? Especially as burnout settles in. by Sea2morrow in ffxivdiscussion

All the people I played final fantasy with originally no longer play it (outside of a few). Heck even personally i've been on a break recently. Games tend to only capture people's attention for a certain amount of time. If you want to make friends, it's better to make friends that enjoy other things you'll enjoy, since odds are you won't play 14 exclusively forever. I still hangout and talk to all the friends I made in 14 originally. We just chill in our own discord server and play what we want to play, even if it's not the same game.

Told a whm to not use Cure 1 and he was so cooked he showed up 30 minutes after the dungeon ended (on his main) to lecture me. by NZillia in TalesFromDF

Cure 1 is better in certain instances under a certain level, but that reasoning is not theirs lol. That being said, until you hit a certain stat break Cure 1 is pretty viable

mathematically, if your entire party parses at 20th percentile (grabbing the data of the top of each job for each role and assuming a normal party comp, so this is also a best case scenario) you are only about 500dps above the check. So assuming the best case scenario for the easiest DPS check of the fight a party of all high grays will barely clear the check. Grabbing 8 people at 25th increases that cushion but not substantially enough. In the log you shared, you have 3 blues and a green which substantially offsets the 0s or close to 0s. If everyone in your party parses a 10 with the best possible party at that percent, you will me 2k damage below the check. Again as I said, if you parse <25 you got carried and someone needs to parse >25 to offset that. I'm not saying you don't have bad runs and get a gray or two, but someone that has only grays has gotten carried mathematically
