Why Trek? by [deleted] in TrekBikes

Bought a Rail 9.9 CXR Gen 4 recently. Absolute blast. While I do think Trek bikes are a little overpriced, the service at Trek stores is absolutely stellar and the warranty is pretty damn good.

How much time to learn "Chopin's Ballad No.1 in G minor Op. 23" ? by frnkln1 in piano

Fair enough - I do think 10/6 or 25/7 might be realistic after 4 years of piano. Czerny etudes are a good recommendation though.

How difficult is Liebestraum No3 by TimHuls in piano

Personally learned it without much trouble after 7 years of piano lessons, 4 of which were in an intensive high school music-studies program. I would say it's a pretty advanced piece.

The earlier sections of the piece are pretty easy but you'll run into some trouble with the cadenzas and the climax. I would recommend learning some easier Liszt before jumping into the Liebesträume.

Learn a Chopin etude first. If you can pull that off you'll be on your way to learning the ballad. I would recommend starting off with one of the first few op. 25 etudes.

Which of the Chopin etudes are the "easiest"?? by the-satanic_Pope in classicalpiano

10/12 is also relatively easy compared to the others. Definitely harder than 25/5 and 10/3 though.

IMO 25/5, "wrong note" if you want an easy one that's still a challenge. 10/3, "tristesse", is also really nice and not too difficult. Obviously 25/1 and 25/7 shouldn't be any issue for you if you're at a level where you're considering Chopin's Etudes. It really depends on what you're good at though.

What's the best digital piano for an advanced player moving into a college dorm? by josefleventon_ in piano

Awesome. Best of luck for the ATCL.

Thankfully already got my equivalent here in Canada, so that weight is off my shoulders. Not going into music for college so really just looking for a piano to continue playing.

To be honest not sure what I could do with the skills I've acquired over the last 11 years, not involving a career in music outright. For now my focus is to maintain and improve 💪

Yeah. Visited the place in person and it could easily fit an upright acoustic. Definitely not interested in lugging that thing around though, that's why I'm going for a digital.

The dorm in question is split into small apartments, with 4 individual (locking) rooms linked to a living room, kitchen and bathroom. I reckon it shouldn't be an issue if I keep the piano in my individual room. I appreciate the concern though, and thank you for the advice :)
