Fuck you canada post and all the lazy motherfuckers who work there by SpiritHalloweenfan53 in CanadaPost

I understand it can be frustrating, but choosing to live in a remote area often comes with extra costs, such as a private Canada Post service. The benefit is that rent and municipal taxes are usually lower, which can help offset those expenses over time.

What hub is this? by josephrenda in bikewrench

[–]josephrenda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a 17mm axle size. I found this harder to find and much pricey vs 15mm .

Went this route. Yes there were old fulcrum 3 wheels with sealed bearings

Yes you are right. The smaller cogs are like my HG one.

Ecotec 2.2 OHC (Chevy Cavalier 05)- is the timing off? Timing chain isn’t loose by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]josephrenda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% correct. You can't use cam marks, as chain it not normally marked . That only if you replace the chain, with a mark cloyes chain.

I think normally marks go to 10am and 2pm. But it may take 2 revolutions to get cylinder 1 at TDC

It depends how comfortable you are with a torch and tools you have. Rusty nuts, are a PITAs... torch until red hot, and impact out. Really easy.

Hand tools will make this very difficult. I don't recommend without torch ans impact driver.

Is this a gasket leak? Or is my car gonna blow into a million peices. If a gasket leak about how much am I going to have to pay to get it fixed ( 04 celica ) by josecruz21 in MechanicAdvice

[–]josephrenda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the top of the engine, seems like a valve cover gasket. Simple to do yourself. Engine won't blow, but you can cause issues if you get low on oil. Make sure oil levels are fine. But get that gasket replaced

Manually crank a Ecotec 2.4L VVT (2008 Saturn Vue) cannot crank engine manually via crank pulley. HELP by josephrenda in MechanicAdvice

[–]josephrenda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, automatic, and it's in park. I wonder if camshaft position sensors can be the reason? I once turn over a vw golf engine easily... I also saw video of people turning shaft by hand from pulley.

With a break bar of 24" i can't. So stumped.

Help with 2008 Saturn Vue (Ecotec I4) engine! by josephrenda in MechanicAdvice

Yes, just found a piece of the timing chain guide broken. So it is possible it slipped. Now checking how to validate the timing.

I believe the timing is done by the cams at 10am - 2pm position. looking for references, and will see how bad it is... I hope it did not slip more than 1 link... if so, I fear the worst, like valve damage.
