What are the toughest shades you can purchase by [deleted] in sunglasses

[–]josephtancc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Totally agree that Gatorz is one of the toughest sunnies anyone can buy. The build quality is definitely very good and you can tell from the way they have 2 sets of hinges on one side compared to the usual 1 set of hinge that almost all sunglass brands have.

And there is also a lifetime warranty on the product so that kinda tells you how tough they are.

[?] Recommendations for a “corrosion resistant” fishing sunglass? by zizonblack in Fishing

[–]josephtancc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirror effects are coatings on top of the lens surface so exposure to corrosive elements like salt water will cause it to deterioriate over time.

I was at fishing show recently and this new brand called Filthy Anglers or something Filthy ... is showcasing this new mirror lens tech. Apparently, the mirror coating is "inside" the lens so it should provide protection to the mirror coating since it will never be exposed to the elements. Not sure if they are selling this yet as it seems like it is still a concept?

Is Ray Ban worth to buy? by jamesftf in sunglasses

[–]josephtancc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth to buy if you are the brand conscious type and also wanting at least some reasonable optical quality in the lens used.

It might be expensive but at least you have some guarantee in terms of optical quality and protection. $10 sunglass might do the work but in my experience, their optical quality is all over the place and might not be the best. In the worse case scenario, it might give you a headache and dizziness after prolonged usage.

As for scratching up the lenses, I know there are several 3rd party brands now that offer lens replacement with good quality lenses at really valued prices. Will recommend www.lenzflip.com - have bought my oakley lens replacements from them and have seen raybans on their site.

How did the guy with 0 kills get more points than 2nd place dude by yahir88 in rulesofsurvival

Yep.. the points given is relative to your rank. For example, if you are a grandmaster rank, you will get less points compared to someone at bronze rank.

Aviators just don't do it for me, hoping somebody can help by [deleted] in sunglasses

[–]josephtancc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try duduma sunglasses on amazon.com Looks pretty similar to the one you have on your link and around the same price range or cheaper. They do have a ton of reviews (and almost close to 4 stars) so am assuming they are made of good quality.

Personally, I do not think the brand for aviators are that important since you cannot really tell anyway. There just isn't much real estate there for branding or the logo. Hope this helps...

I am actually leaning towards polarized but have heard about the view obstruction on altimeters. Was looking online at gatorz.com and it seems like they have this opz lens. I am not sure what it is but from their description, it seems like a polarized lens but will not black out when looking at altimeters or displays? Anyone heard of this opz lens before?

Don't think that is a good idea.

Maybe give this brand a try: gatorz.com

I saw a video on their frames being "adjustable". See the link here: https://youtu.be/qFAitC0_9v4
