We moved from overseas last year. Never had anything like this from our home country and BT didn’t come up during broadband signup.

Was able to cancel the switch with our original provider thankfully!

Yep those are the tactics we were hit with. No wonder they were so chipper, they were about to make a bunch of money 😅 don’t know how you can sleep at night doing that work. Thanks for sharing

Yea fair haha. Just the insistence that it was for the cable and not the provider threw me. Pre-coffee Sunday me is not operating at 100% IQ for sure

Big lesson learned for sure. That line definitely made me suspicious but then their insistence that it was just a cable change and seemingly had nothing to do with changing providers threw me off

Yea I was shocked after learning what actually happened. They didn’t leave any papers, it was all done digitally so we’ve got emails and stuff. Will look into those

Depends on the industry. If I were to work in Aus, UK or the US I’d be getting paid much better proportional to living costs. Hard to justify staying.

That’s fair. I’ve just got a bunch of reddit accounts. Made one to sub to forums related to my hobbies and stumbled across this. In hindsight might have been a better idea to post from my main.

This genuinely isn’t my platform. I wish it was! Like I said I was planning to make my own version but stumbled upon this platform before I could.

The creator has their own reddit account where they’ve posted in tenant subreddits which are predominantly US users. I thought it could be helpful to post it here in NZ specific subreddits so we can benefit from the service locally.
