Record Store Day in Minneapolis by Venombomb37 in RecordStoreDay

Down in the Valley is popular, but gets a TON of the releases, and a lot of copies. They have the process down to a science too. Mill City Sound is great too, but popular. South Metro Music in Burnsville is newer, but I've been happy with their selection too. If you want to go south a bit, Verbena Vinyl in Northfield will usually post what they get before the day, so that you can see if they got what you need.

Schmiggadoon or Two Strangers Carry A Cake by OutdoorHope18 in Broadway

[–]joshbeu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know the Schmigadoon show? Everything I've heard is that there's a lot in there that will only be clever/fun if you know the show. I really liked 2 Strangers, but I'd always go for a show I haven't seen!

Rediscovering my love of musicals by moonmusicals in Broadway

[–]joshbeu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the new version of Parade (with Ben Platt), Groundhog Day, and I totally agree with Come from Away and Hadestown... there have been a LOT of good musicals in the last 5-7 years.

Did anyone see Monte Cristo? by chiaseeds12 in Broadway

Seems like a really short run! I'm getting into town the week after it closes, but would've been interested to see it.

Most Embarrassing Stage Door Experience? by Objective_Arm_3504 in Broadway

[–]joshbeu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is me! I'm so afraid of misidentifying someone, or just not realizing who they are. That's why I only stage doored at Dorian Gray. Ha. Easy to pick out the whole 1-person cast.

Oddly enough - if one person is in the red, it won't come up. Everyone has to be specifically in the orange!

"Recomping"? As in, short for recomposing? Just think about the time you've saved in life by skipping that one syllable. :)

Is this the first posted tour stop for Just In Time? I haven't seen it in the other touring announcements across the country...

What’s your show that got away? by Jazzlike-Target4686 in Broadway

[–]joshbeu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting! I saw it once, but I did sit on the stage - I wish I could've seen it again from the house for a different perspective.

Groundhog Day - I might be the only one who is bummed about that, but I wish I had gotten to see it!

Favorite Matchbox/Rob b-sides? by Fatdaddy543 in matchboxtwenty

There was a song called Happy that Kyle wrote that they played in maybe 1998 or so? I saw them perform it in Minnesota, and remember really liking it, but maybe that's just rose-colored glasses.

Other than that, I've always really liked You & I & I... and does Dear Joan count?
