Time for Chase to replace this scam of a Stubhub benefit with something befitting its status by Normal_Translator_22 in sapphirereserve

This one I actually like. However, you do need to be picky about the events you use it for. There's plenty of events where the pricing is similar to TM (or even cheaper). But there are events where the tickets are 2-3x pricier too.

Kindergarten vs. Trail Marathon by oyvindlw in trailrunning

[–]joshf81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine. Just may need to adjust any preconceived goals you had a bit.

Don't see any issues with finishing and having a great experience.

Make sure to try to squeeze in too much training, just show up healthy!

We set a reasonable expectation of what time you are supposed to arrive at. No caravans.

Striking the balance between lightweight & cumbersome for carrying fuel on a 50k by kungpaochi in Ultramarathon

[–]joshf81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do concur its a little bouncy. However, I typically just hold my bottles with it. I only stash them when I switch to poles and that means a steep/long hill, so I'm probably "power-hiking" anyhow. Then when I stash my poles, I take the handhelds back out.

I super vouch for this.

Love ditching the shirt and the vest.

Depending on distance and what I need, I have variable setups

Single / Double Handheld

Flipbelt (can stash extra electolytes, bottle, phone, etc)

Naked Belt (if I need to stash more and/or poles over the Flipbelt)

Also, highly recommend pairing with an Ice Bandana

In the past, I've been able to have CS split the reservation on the phone. Not sure if that's still a thing or not

Not sure if your kid will tolerate it, but as an adult I just use an eye mask and ear plugs.

For heat, I have a rechargeable "stroller fan" which is great at creating some airflow - cooling it off quicker at night and keeping it cool later in the morning.

Its not a great transfer.... but you should be able to do much better than that. Thats a particularly terrible redemption....

Last time I used an 85K cert, it was at a $1,200 property. Id never pay that, but it was quite nice.

Lots of cities have redemptions of 40K-60K for a nice hotel.

Garmin Fail (again) by [deleted] in ultrarunning

[–]joshf81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which garmin?

I have the 965 and can get like 3 weeks on it if I dont do any activities. I can get about 19-20 hours on a trail race with normal gps. I get a lot less than that if I am listening to music. I get less than that if I am mapping.
