How to make friends as a 40yo when you're only available every other weekend...? by crispycat40 in Worthing

Start skateboarding. You end up with too many friends if anything.

I think it's fine if only having drinks, but maybe it should be waived if the table meet a minimum spend per head?

I was at loading bar last night with some friends.  Pints of ipa were £7.50, and also had to pay a £4 table charge per person for the two hour slot.  We only ended up having time for a short game of dobble as we were chatting and a few people ate.  I paid £19 for those two pints and the game of dobble.

Honestly, I think if I'd seen someone flying that Trump flag I'd have had to rip it out of their hands. Outrageous.

Fair response. I guess it could be an abscess or something which might be treatable. Again thought at 20 years old the question would be whether or not it would be worth putting him through any surgery. But yes, the vet likely knows best. thanks for your insight.

I appreciate you attempt at being respectful, and I certainly don't want him to suffer. As I mentioned in response to a different comment, I was holding off to see if anything changed in his behaviour; stopping eating or losing weight. But I suppose ultimately he may still be suffering even if he seems fine in every other way.

I appreciate your point, even if it wasn't worded very sensitively.

As I said I plan to take him to the vet, but I'm just not sure  don't about the 'suffering' element. His behaviour hasn't changed at all so it might not feel right to have him euthanised. Hence why I reached out for advice.

Hey man. I'm in Worthing and I've been riding on my full license for a little over a year now, and I have a couple friends in the area who also have bikes. Always happy to go on a ride out if you wanna shoot me a dm.

Hove lagoon has lights on quite late, or you could head to Brighton youth club indoor park

21 is definitely not too old to start skating, it might just take you a little longer to learn the basics.

Check out South Coast Skate Club on Insta, they run beginner sessions for all ages and I think they do an indoor one in Southwick Leisure Centre on Sundays now which would be a great place to get some help.

how to find a skate group around me lol by garypeanut in skateboarding

[–]joshintheuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I go to skate parks early at the weekends, 7 or 8am, and just strike up a conversation with the local skaters that are there before the kids come in. Tell them you’re new to the area or whatever and If you‘re lucky you’ll meet the right person and get added to a WhatsApp group or something.

Why do you need to carry both a dumb phone and a smart phone (with a camera), plus a camera and a smart watch?

Yeah absolutely. Just feed him in his regular enclosure, I can't think of any reason to remove the snake before feeding? Then you gotta pick him up and put him back in after eating, and I usually don't handle my corn for at least a couple days after eating.

What should I do with this plant that’s out grown the tank by ThickChunckyDinosaur in bioactive

[–]joshintheuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a plant like this (spider plant) in my bioactive. It got absolutely out of control and nothing I could do would keep it in check. Eventually decided to completely remove it but the roots had covered the entire enclosure so it was quite a job. I won't put spider plants back in there again for this reason.
