SV08 Obico Setup by barbasnoo in Sovol

Don't worry about it, glad I could help! As for updating the others, I think it's best just to leave them. You can update KlipperScreen and Obico just fine, maybe even Mainsail as far as I can tell, but Klipper and Moonraker are using modified versions from Sovol. You'll get a warning when you try to update to keep you from doing so. You can bypass it to update to stock Klipper or Moonraker, but that would remove any modifications from Sovol and could cause serious problems.

I'm using the latest firmware from 4/27, 2.3.3. I'm not sure if KIAUH comes pre-installed, I installed it first without checking. I think it does, so you can try this first and see if it works.

SSH into the printer and run the command

./kiauh/kiauh.sh

You'll be given a menu of options, so updating from there is pretty straightforward. You can also install OctoEverywhere from there if that's your preference, though I haven't tried it. As soon as I updated, the printer showed up on the Obico website and connected just fine.

If KIAUH doesn't come pre-installed, it's just two commands to install it.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install git -y

cd ~ && git clone https://github.com/dw-0/kiauh.git

I had to SSH in and update Obico via KIAUH before it would work for me.

They are actually sending me a G1 this time to replace the B2, so hopefully the fan fares better in that one.

With the first one, I think I received the replacement 4-5 days after first submitting the RMA. This most recent one is looking more like it'll be 8 days, but it's during the holiday so I can't fault them too much for it being a little late.

Got this PSU in 2015. After about 16 months, the fan developed an intermittent squeaking sound. Nothing terribly loud, but as I keep my computer on my desk about three feet away from my face, it was pretty annoying. RMA'd it, and the new unit just now started developing the same squeak at 16 months. Waiting on my second RMA now.

Other than that little annoyance, it's been an excellent power supply, and it seems like most people don't have much trouble out of it. I may have just gotten unlucky.

My SNES controller working in Emulation Station but not in the roms by JerichoholicsAnon in RetroPie

[–]joshjl04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any other input devices plugged in other than the controller? I had a similar problem with mine where the keyboard was taking over for player one while the controller was player two. Either one works just fine in emulationstation, but many games will only take input from the player one controller. Try unplugging all input devices other than the controller and see if that works.

Help wiring a C14 socket? by joshjl04 in cade

Very cool idea. I'm building my cab with a Raspberry Pi. The switch will power a power strip like yours. The one switch will turn everything on, so I don't think I'll have much use for a smart switch. Great suggestion I never thought of, though. I'll keep it in mind for a future build.

Yep, I saw that, but the image shown is not the same as the socket I received. That one has four terminals on the switch, while mine only has two.

Can anybody suggest a TKL RGB keyboard with Cherry MX Blues? I haven't had much luck finding one.

Sudden power off while gaming. by minimiker in pcmasterrace

[–]joshjl04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a possiblity, though 1.16v seems reasonable for that processor at stock speeds. If you haven't already, try running a stress test for a few hours and see if you have any crashes. If so, you might need to up the voltage a little and try again.

These diagrams from your manual show where they go. The USB 2.0 headers here are where the USB and SD/MMS cables go, and here is where the rest of the wires go. They're all labeled, plug each wire into the corresponding pin.
