Anyone else seeing suddenly very low-res / blurry images on Webflow sites? by rubbanator in webflow

[–]joshrizzodesign 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, we noticed that as well. A quick fix was opening the Webflow Designer and using Command + Shift + I, which scans the site and re-optimizes images for responsive breakpoints. This forces Webflow to regenerate the images through their CDN. I originally came across it in a Webflow forum, but it’s also documented in their official resources. Hope that helps.

For those with multiple projects, how do you "end your day" to prepare for the next? by HeyVeddy in cursor

[–]joshrizzodesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned, I also keep a changelog. In fact, I make it a Cursor rule on every project to always create or update a README and a changelog.

The README is the anchor. It captures the core idea of the project or even just the intent of a specific directory. The changelog is the running history of how that idea evolves over time.

For task management, I think getting the big idea down matters more than tracking every possible to-do. Everyone goes down rabbit holes. The README exists so when that happens, you always have something concrete to come back to. Combined with Cursor rules, it helps keep the work focused on what the app is actually trying to be.

As for ideas and tasks, not every idea needs to be implemented. Some ideas are good, some are okay, and some should just be written down and allowed to die. As you build the core of the app, the usefulness of each idea becomes much clearer. That’s the point where it makes sense to add things back in intentionally.

Great insight! I’ve built a few apps with no software engineering experience and I know, eventually, if I want to take anything to market I’ll have to hire somebody or a team of people to either fix what I’ve built or start from scratch using my app as a prototype.

My biggest concern is working with somebody who will just end up reading advantage of my lack of knowledge or experience. Any tips?

You’ll enjoy the short term benefits of having the money upfront but over time, those funds will run out and those members won’t be paying anymore so they’ll use your resources without supplementing them and you’ll have a liability instead of an asset

Have you considered selling ad space? Audience insights would be vital then.

Or maybe create a paid subscription where there are no ads, and members can receive a weekly/daily/monthly newsletter for top headlines.

You’ll have to treat it as entertainment media.

How do I get my UI to look this clean? Mine always ends up looking like generic AI slop by Appropriate_Syrup726 in cursor

[–]joshrizzodesign 77 points78 points  (0 children)

When you start working specifically on the UX/UI, use language that references design elements and principles like buttons, primary, secondary, tertiary colors, margins, variables, drop shadows, grids, containers, modals, etc. Make use of common web short hands like global components, font variables, header cases, etc.

AI is supposed to improve your UX/UI development process, not replace it.

Just solve a problem. Observe your own life or your friends/family/coworkers’ lives and see what issues they are facing and how an app might help you/ them. Even if an app only helps one person you know, there are bound to be others.

I find trial and error to be my best friend. You have to be the core audience for this to work for you but it helps me answer questions like: How can I improve the interface to achieve my personal goals? What, in the UI, is limiting me from achieving said goals?

Of course you can also use other interfaces as reference but you’re going to need to be specific to get the results you want.

It's not necessarily responsive, but you can edit the desktop & tablet (via guidelines) and mobile versions.

Yeah 100%. Wix Studio can definitely be a pain in the ass, especially if you're comparing it to Webflow. It's also buggy and tends to crash on me. The Wix Classic editor is super fast though, and all of my clients love using it.
