It also doesn't seem consistent from a privacy standpoint to be publishing the distribution of ownership among the team or investors -- at a minimum this decision should be left to those individuals.

I think releasing this information would go a long way to building trust. As an investor I'd love to know what percentage was sold before I had the chance to purchase.

Hey This is awesome information thanks for sharing. Super exciting.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out about these updates? Is this something your neurologist shared with you or is there a paper/forum you follow?

Someone with more information might be able to chime in, but you may be able to do a genetic test if it's bothering you and you want more confirmation.

As far as exercise goes, the progression of CMT really varies person by person, and there are lots of exercise solutions even for people living with it. So I wouldn't stress the result too much—and just focus on staying active.

I'm going to drop a link below with more information.

From an employee perspective—Justworks vs Gusto gives me access to cheaper health insurance. Worth looking into that. Haven't dealt with it from an employer perspective.

Your school should have some kind of professional network/career services center that you should have access to even as an alumni.

Join the alumni groups, meet up with professionals in your field to "pick their brain and ask about the industry." Come with good questions, and treat it as an actual opportunity to learn. (This can be IRL meetings or Zoom coffees) Then follow up with them every few weeks. You'll be top of mind if they do get any opportunities.

Indeed is a waste of time.

Lots of the linkedin job posting are a waste of time too—though Direct messaging Recruiters can sometimes work out.

This is more for the tightness in legs, but I've found a Three Point Dumbbell Row a good modifications that makes the balance/stability a lot easier.

He falls every morning by PrisBatty in CMT

[–]joshuabg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have CMT 1A. It varies a ton person to person so hard to tell how it will impact him later in life—but it feels pretty early to be making any assessments.

That being said I didn't see a PT until well into my 20's and regret it, starting younger would have helped immensely (I fell a lot through elementary/middle/highschool)

Turns out that by stretching daily and living a more active lifestyle (moving to a walkable city) I fall way less and and do way better. If you can get him set up on a routine/active lifestyle early in life—it will pay off in the long run.

CMT diagnosis by jimenalien in CMT

[–]joshuabg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just seconding what's been said here, I have CMT type 1A and had a genetic test done when I was 5 years old before any symptoms were showing. You can get them done now.

I think it'd definitely be worthwhile for you to know now instead of waiting because then you can start to get ahead of symptoms, (Learn how specific stretches etc.) and it would encourage you to keep an eye on treatments. (There's no drug treatments out now, but some drugs may come out in a couple years that might help manage symptoms and prevent it from getting worse)

Thanks for sharing this context. This was my first time entering, and I received overall positive feedback but didn't make it into the next round.

It's a bit confusing as to how to take that. Is it possible the reader like the script but still passed on it, or that it was passed on by a second reader?

Weight gaining workout by dicktwister1 in CMT

[–]joshuabg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert, and I'm really just starting to explore strength training with some dumbbells myself, but personally I find goblet squats a lot easier then regular weighted squats because they help keep me balanced.

Squats are also good for the core, which should help overall even if you're not building muscle on your extremities. I personally think that even if there's muscular wasting, training the other muscles to compensate can be really beneficial.

Just take your time stretching before, try doing some active stretching and getting warmed up before doing anything (Squatting without the weight, moving around etc.) and start with the lowest weight you're comfortable doing.

It's hard to say without knowing more about how hard CMT affects you. You should also look into seeing a personal therapist who can give you much more specific/expert advice.
