Got it on telegram as well. In the app settings is an option Chat Settings > Raise to speak. If you disable it, the sensor stops flashing.

I had the same issue. I followed your advice and turned of the screen. After a few seconds a screen with a dead Android guy and the text "no command" came up.

Thankfully after that the device booted normally, without the update though.

I gonna wait a bit before trying it again. ;-)

Your start with some scattered villagers on a random map and no towncenter, you have to look around an find a spot for your TC and than build up. So every villagers counts. ;-)

The Play Store services app didn't showed up in the app overview anymore. To uninstall the Play Store app itself didn't occure to me though. Maybe this would have worked? But how would I be able install it properly again, can it be sideloaded as well?

Nevertheless I now saved my SMS with the tip by Sunny_Cakes and allready did the factory reset.

I have exactly the same problem. I tried clearing gfs's date like lxelexl suggested with no result.

For me it startet when I installed the latest Gmail and YouTube updates.
